The NSS unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education celebrated Hindi Diwas with great pride and dignity in order to spread the message that Hindi language is the soul of our Indian cultural heritage. Many events were organized in the college to shed light on the history and significance of Hindi language. These events included recitation of Kabir Dasji ke dohey, Rahimji ke dohey, Tulsi Dasji ke dohey by the student-teachers. A Drama was enacted on the theme – ‘Hindi is our official language and the backbone of our nation’ by NSS volunteers Geetika, Gunveen, Gursehaj and Vibha. Through different scenes they depicted their love and respect for Hindi language.

Innocent Hearts College of Education mourns at the passing away of Former Principal Dr. DK Joshi.
Innocent Hearts College of Education extends deepest condolences on the passing away of beloved Former Principal Dr. Devender Kumar Joshi. He had laid the foundation of the college since it’s inception in the year 2007 and served the institution for 10 years. Under his noble guidance, the college students in the very first year made a landmark by grabbing a gold medal by achieving 1st position in the GNDU B.Ed. academic result, besides holding merit positions. Consecutively second year, the college created history by positioning 15 students out of 100 in the 53-member merit list issued by the university. His profound leadership, values and dedication have left a long-lasting mark on the college community and managing trust.
The Chairman (Innocent Hearts Group) Dr. Anup Bowry, Managing Director (Health Services) Dr. Chander Bowry, Executive Director (Schools) Mrs. Shally Bowry, Executive Director (Colleges) Mrs. Aradhana Bowry and Principal of College of Education Dr. Arjinder Singh expressed their deep feelings of regret on the demise of revered educationist Dr. DK Joshi who had achieved many awards and recognitions in his career like Swami Vivekananda Award of Excellence, Glory of Education Excellence Award, Best Educationist Award, Rastriya Shiksha Saraswati Award, Bharat Gaurav Award, Rajeev Gandhi Shiromani Award, Rashtriya Rattan Award etc. Chairman (Innocent Hearts Group) Dr. Anup Bowry sadly expressed, “We have lost a precious jewel of our temple of learning. His distinct vision, open-mindedness, exceptional wisdom and his ability to appreciate others, will always remain locked in our hearts. May his soul rest in peace.” Principal of College of Education, Dr. Arjinder Singh praying for the departed soul said, “Former Principal Dr DK Joshi will remain immortally amongst us in his invaluable teachings, illuminating ideas and knowledge which he has transferred to the generations.” With heavy hearts, all the faculty members, students and alumni prayed for his peaceful journey ahead to the God’s abode.

The student-teachers of Innocent Hearts College of Education shine out as University toppers in the GNDU B.Ed. Semester-II, May- 2025 Examination result by achieving 4 Merit positions at the University level. All the student-teachers of the college have achieved First divisions and 57% student-teachers have achieved distinctions. Geetika achieved Merit position in the Guru Nanak Dev University with 8.20 CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) out of 10. Mandeep Shahi, Puneet Kaur and Vibha Chawla also grabbed Merit positions at the University with 8.10 CGPA. Mandeep Shahi and Geetika achieved first position in the college with 8.30 SGPA (Semester Grade Point Average), Simrandeep Kaur bagged second position with 8.20 SGPA. Puneet Kaur and Vibha Chawla attained third position in the college with 8.10 SGPA. Geetika thankfully expressed her love for the college. She articulated, “My stellar academic performance stands out as a testament to the quality of education, mentorship, and learning environment that Innocent Hearts College of Education provides to the would-be teachers.” Mandeep Shahi first of all thanked God and joyfully acknowledged the direction provided to her by the college Principal and teachers.
On this proud occasion, Executive Director (Colleges), Mrs. Aradhana Bowry appreciated the credits achieved by the student-teachers. She remarked, “These outstanding results underscore our mission to nurture talent, foster intellectual curiosity, and uphold the highest standards of academic discipline.” Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh notified that all the student-teachers have passed the Sem-II Examination by giving their best performances. He motivated the student-teachers to apply this theoretical knowledge practically in the teaching practice schools too. Innocent Hearts College of Education achieved 100% First Divisions in the result of GNDU B.Ed. Sem IV Examination (May 2025). Sixty-five percent student-teachers grabbed distinctions and twelve student-teachers achieved more than 80% marks.
Komal Verma achieved first position in the college with 8.60 SGPA, Khushi Sharma bagged second position with 8.50 SGPA, Salma Khanam and Golda Khullar attained third position in the college with 8.20 SGPA. Komal Verma expressed gladly, “I am really grateful for the priceless direction provided by our Principal and help meted out by my worthy teachers for believing in me and inspiring me to reach my goal.” Salma Khanam added, “Success is not something you attain without putting in effort. It is a mindset you must adopt to accomplish your goals and grow as a person and it takes hard work. My family has always supported and encouraged me to work hard to attain my goals. Moreover, the co-operation and guidance of Principal Sir and the teachers of our college have always encouraged me to move ahead.”

A help desk for B.Ed Admission Guidance established at Innocent Hearts College of Education
Innocent Hearts College of Education, located in Green Model Town, Jalandhar has taken a proactive step to support B.Ed. aspirants by setting up a dedicated help desk. The primary objective of this help desk is to provide comprehensive guidance to individuals seeking admission to the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) program for the academic session 2025-27. Additionally, the help desk will offer valuable insights and information related to the Punjab B.Ed. Common Entrance Test (CET).
The College Principal, Dr. Arjinder Singh announced that the registration process for B.Ed. admissions is currently in progress in the college campus. The student-teachers of Innocent Hearts College of Education excelled with very good academic performances in the GNDU B.Ed. (Sem-I) DEC 2024 Examination result. Almost all the student-teachers of the college achieved First divisions, 53% student-teachers achieved distinctions and 67% student-teachers attained more than 70% marks.
Geetika, Puneet Kaur and Vibha Chawla achieved first position in the college with 8.10 CGPA, Ankita, Gursimran Kaur and Ruchika Mehta bagged second position with 8.00 CGPA and Gursehaj Kaur, Gunveen Kaur, Mandeep Shahi, Mehak Sharma, Simrandeep Kaur and Smile attained third position in the college with 7.90 CGPA. Geetika first of all thanked God and gladly acknowledged the guidance provided to her by the college Principal and her mentors. The NSS unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar observed Martyrs day for reviving the spirit of patriotism amongst the would-be teachers and for paying homage to the revolutionary comrades: Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev. Poster-making and slogan writing competitions were organised to recall their moral values and to imbibe their inspirational quotes like ‘Inquilab Zindabad!’ which means long live the revolution and ‘Freedom is an imperishable birth right of all.’ A drama on personality traits of freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev was enacted by the NSS volunteers to showcase various chivalric incidents related to Indian freedom struggle.

The NSS Unit & Red ribbon club of Innocent Hearts College of Education celebrated International Women’s day under the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ program. “Every Woman is a manifestation of divine power”, incorporating this theme a fancy dress fusion was organized. The would-be teachers wore graceful cultural garments representing different cultural patterns of various states of our country. Their dialogues were a reminiscence of great Indian women personalities. Janvi Arora achieved the title of Miss Rajasthani rave, Purnima Sethi achieved the title of Miss Gujarati grace, Gursimran Kaur grabbed Miss Kashmiri kindness title, Simrandeep Kaur bagged Miss Punjaban title and Manmeet Kaur bagged Miss Punjabi pride title. Their postures and elegance depicted Indian feminine beauty and pride.
Innocent Hearts College of Education celebrated International mother tongue day
The NSS unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education participated in the ‘Punjabi Maa Boli Diwas March’ which was organized by the Jagriti Manch, on Feb 21, 2025. This procession started from Lyallpur Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Nakodar Chowk to Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall Jalandhar with the objective to enrich, promote and preserve the purity and glory of Punjabi language and culture.
Before starting for the march, all educators and student-teachers took a pledge to protect, preserve and transmit their mother tongue to the coming generations in its pure form and to impart Punjabi language by integrating it with culture.
During the procession, the NSS volunteers carried banners, placards and energetically uttered slogans accentuating the significance of mother tongue Punjabi and its role in promoting universal brotherhood. NSS Programme Officer Tarunjyoti Kaur accompanied the NSS volunteers in the rally who depicted their love and respect for their mother tongue through their artistic posters. A plethora of slogan writings highlighted the significance and present day relevance of Punjabi language.
