INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION JALANDHAR CELEBRATED GREEN DIWALI
Innocent Hearts College
of Education organized anti-cracker campaign week from Oct 29, 2018 to Nov 3,
2018 during the School Internship programme in the various schools of Jalandhar
i.e. Innocent Hearts School Lohara, Innocent Hearts School Green Model Town, Royal
World School, Social Convent School and Lyallpur Khalsa Public School,
Jalandhar. Various activities were organized each day with an aim to curb the
temptation of bursting fire crackers and in turn save our earth from the devil
of pollution. The student-teachers gave speeches and showed power point
presentations on issues related to the menace resulting from fire crackers, anti-cracker
poster-making competitions, diya decoration, rangoli competitions were
organised and processions were taken out in the nearby villages to spread
awareness of the harmful effects of crackers, student-teachers and school
students uttered slogans and pledged to make the environment more clean and
green. Prizes and certificates were given to the school students. The college
Principal, Dr. Arjinder Singh was the guiding force behind the whole event. He
said that we should light our souls during Diwali and transfer this positivism
to others around us.

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION ORGANISED TALENT HUNT
Innocent Hearts College of
Education, Jalandhar organized Talent Hunt on Sept 11, 2018 in order to bring
out the hidden skills of the student-teachers and help them realize their
individual worth. The event started with the prayer ceremony followed by the welcome
speech. The student-teachers actively participated in literary items - Elocution,
Debate and Poetical Symposium. They recited self-composed poems. The atmosphere
was filled with sentiments and harmony during the gazal and solo song
performances of the student-teachers. Rangoli, Collage making, Slogan writing,
Painting competition added the colourful hue. The audience was spell bound with
the energetic solo dance and folk song performances of the student-teachers. The
judgement was done keeping in mind the rules and criteria set for each item. Principal
Dr. Arjinder Singh boosted the morale of participants and congratulated the
winners.

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION CELEBRATED TEACHERS DAY
The student-teachers of Innocent
Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar organised the function on Teachers day
in the auditorium. The programme started with the prayer ceremony followed by the
floral welcome of the Chief Guest Mrs. Aradhana Bowry, Executive Director (Colleges),
Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust. The student-teachers gave a
welcome speech and bouquets to their educators and guests. This was followed by
a power point presentation depicting the importance of teachers. There were
solo dance performances and solo songs dedicated to the college teachers were
sung by the student-teachers. Dr. Tirath Singh, Principal Sacred Hearts College
of Education gave an inspirational speech on the ‘Vision of Teacher Education
in India’. The students also conducted a quiz for the teachers in which the
teachers were divided into two teams. There were three rounds of intellectual
and fun-filled activities by the teachers. Self-composed poems were recited by
the student-teachers. Group song was sung.
Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh in his
speech stated that teachers have a lot of responsibility on their shoulders
because Teaching is a profession that teaches all the other professions, in
other words, they are the nation-builders. So in this digital world the
would-be teachers should vigilantly perform their School Internship programmes
and academic training so that they give their best in the schools in future. The
function ended with the recitation of the National Anthem and the teachers
thanked the students for their marvellous performances.

HAWAN CEREMONY AND ORIENTATION PROGRAMME
Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar
organized Hawan and Orientation Programme on Aug 9, 2018 for the pious
commencement of B.Ed session 2018-19 and to orient the new students about the
B.Ed programme. Hawan ceremony was also organized to inculcate moral values and
develop respect for Indian culture and heritage among the would-be teachers.
Prayers were recited by members of
management, principal, faculty members, would-be teachers and newcomers
reviving the tradition of Triveni. The hawan samagri was offered in the holy
fire. Flowers were showered. All prayed for the betterment of the society,
peace and harmony. Academic Secretary, Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust
(BMEMT), Dr. Anup Bowry participated in the prayer ceremony and gave best
wishes for the new academic session. Executive Director (Schools) BMEMT, Mrs.
Shally Bowry and Executive Director (Colleges) BMEMT, Mrs. Aradhana Bowry were
also present on this occasion.
This was followed by an Orientation
Programme in which student-teachers were briefed about Innocent Hearts
Institutions run by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust, eminent members
of the trust, the meritorious history of the college, the rules and regulations
of the college etc. Principal Dr.
Arjinder Singh inspired the student-teachers to pursue new goals of success.

SWACHH BHARAT MISSION CAMP
The NSS unit of Innocent Hearts College
of Education, Jalandhar organized Swachh Bharat Mission Camp on July 27, 2018 at
Kanjali Kapurthala. The student-teachers and teacher- educators cleaned the
main areas of Kanjali and planted 40 neem trees in the surrounding area. The
student-teachers of NSS Unit took pledge that they will keep their house, neighbouring
streets, college, work place neat and clean and will contribute in such kind of
activities wholeheartedly. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh told the
student-teachers to spread awareness among the masses about the importance of
cleanliness.

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION HAS SET A BENCH MARK IN ACADEMICS AGAIN
The student-teachers of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar have brought victory home in the Guru Nanak Dev University B.Ed Examination Sem-IV (May-2018). 28 students out of total strength of 41 have achieved distinctions and 16 students have achieved more than 75% marks. 100% student- teachers have passed in first division. Jaspreet Kalra bagged merit position in the university and first position in college, Akta Kaushal achieved second position and Archita Saini got third position in the college. The achievers thanked Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh and the faculty members for providing qualitative digitalized education and for acting as facilitators in the teaching- learning process. The members of Management, Principal and the staff members congratulated the students for their brilliant performance.

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION SHOWS ITS FLAIR AGAIN
Innocent
Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar has always focused on providing good
quality education and this reflects in the achievement of student-teachers in
Guru Nanak Dev University B.Ed Examination Sem-I (Dec 2017). 80% student-
teachers have passed in First division and ten student-teachers have achieved
distinctions. Ankita Khera stood first in the college, Amrit Arora achieved
second position and Swati Verma got third position in the college.
Ankita
Khera attributed her success to her parents and college, she said “My teachers
are my ray of hope they have always been my guide and motivator, I dedicate my
achievement to my teachers. I feel very thankful to my family and teachers for
their support and guidance always and motivating me always”. Amrit Arora
firstly thanked God and then said “a big thanks to my parents and most
co-operative and hard-working teachers of Innocent Hearts College of
Education.” Swati Verma said “I don’t know if it is possible to convey in words
the sense of gratitude for being able to learn from such prestigious college
and great teachers. I have always been inspired to achieve at a level higher
than I thought possible. I cannot thank enough to God, my college, teachers and
my family for their valuable support. Thank you.”
The
members of management, principal and staff members congratulated the students
for their achievement. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh attributed this success to
the team work of students, faculty members and cooperation extended by the
management.
