Innocent Hearts College of Education observed Anti-Ragging week


The NSS Unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education observed anti-ragging week by conducting various activities showing resentment against all the forms of ragging both inside and outside the college campus.  

An oath-taking ceremony was organized on the first day of the anti-ragging week in which all the student-teachers promised that they would not indulge in the menace of ragging or any form of violent behaviour. Neither will they tolerate being ragged nor be subjected to violence. 

‘Education empowers, Ragging devours’ on this theme, poster making and slogan writing competitions were organized during the second and third day followed by drama enactments by NSS volunteers exemplifying prohibition, prevention and punishment related to ragging. Documentary movies on the ill effects of ragging were also shown to the students and faculty which were selected from UGC website www.antiragging and www.ugc.ac.in during the week.

Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh announced that although there have never been any malpractices in the college but spreading the message of humanity, respect, co-operation and peace is very important amongst the youngsters and all need to spread this message. NSS Programme Officer Ms. Tarunjyoti Kaur informed that all the new students of the college and their parents are guided each year to fill the online anti-ragging undertaking form according to the UGC recommendations. Certificates were given to all the participants.

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION EXHIBITS A FRUITFUL JOURNEY WITH AN EXCELLENT RESULT


The student-teachers of Innocent Hearts College of Education outshined with brilliant academic performances in the GNDU B.Ed. Sem II Examination (May 2026) by achieving maximum First divisions in the college. Thirty eight percent of student-teachers achieved distinctions and sixty two percent of student-teachers have attained more than 7.00 semester grade point average (SGPA). 

Ishmeen achieved first position in the college with 8.20 SGPA, Gursimran Kaur bagged second position with 8.10 SGPA, Jagjit Kaur, Smiksha and Suman attained third position in the college with 7.80 SGPA. Ishmeen first of all thanked God and gladly acknowledged the guidance provided to her by the college principal and her mentors. Gursimran Kaur said, “I am deeply grateful to my teachers for their constant guidance, encouragement and support throughout my journey. Securing the second position is a proud moment for me, and I dedicate this achievement to my parents and my respected teachers. I will continue to work hard with sincerity and strive to achieve even greater success in the future.”

Executive Director (Colleges), Mrs. Aradhana Bowry appreciated the credits achieved by the student-teachers. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh notified that all the student-teachers have passed the Sem-II examination by giving their best performances as almost all of them have achieved First divisions. He motivated the learners to give their best each time. The members of Management, Principal and faculty members congratulated all the student-teachers for their notable attainments.

Innocent Hearts College of Education ‘Teachers-to-be’ shine out in excellence.


Innocent Hearts College of Education brought laurels home in the result of GNDU B.Ed. Sem IV Examination (May 2026) by achieving the highest average CGPA amongst the education colleges of Jalandhar. The college bagged Guru Nanak Dev University 9th Merit position through student-teacher Geetika who secured a cumulative grade point average CGPA of 8.43. 

All 100% student-teachers have achieved First Divisions. Eighty percent of student-teachers grabbed distinctions and thirty six percent of student-teachers achieved more than 8 CGPA.

Geetika achieved first position in the college with 8.43 CGPA, Puneet Kaur Rai bagged second position with 8.28  CGPA, Gursehaj Kaur and Mandeep Shahi attained third position in the college with 8.18 CGPA. Mehak Sharma and Kavita Giri achieved fourth position in the college with 8.15 CGPA and Simrandeep Kaur attained fifth position in the college with 8.13 CGPA. 

Geetika uttered thankfully, “I am really grateful for the guidance provided by our Principal and help meted out by my worthy teachers for believing in me and inspiring me to reach my goal.” Puneet Kaur Rai added, “My family has always supported and encouraged me to work hard to attain my goals. Moreover, the co-operation and motivation of Principal Sir and the mentors of our college have always encouraged me to move ahead.”

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION SETS UP HELP DESK FOR B.ED. ADMISSIONS 2026–2027


Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar has set up a help desk to provide assistance to candidates seeking admission to the B.Ed. programme for the session 2026–2027 in colleges affiliated to Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.

College Principal, Dr. Arjinder Singh, informed that this year, admissions to the two-year B.Ed. programme in Punjab are being conducted by Punjabi University, Patiala. He also added that Ms. Prabhjot Kaur will lead the help desk as Admission Counsellor and the help desk will provide guidance free of cost. It will assist B.Ed. aspirants in filling out the online application form for the Punjab B.Ed. Common Entrance Test (CET) 2026. It will also provide valuable guidance about the test format, eligibility criteria, syllabus, qualifying marks, and expected questions. The help desk will serve not only candidates aspiring to take admission in Innocent Hearts College of Education but also those who wish to join other B.Ed. colleges.

Ms. Prabhjot Kaur said that the college help desk has been counselling candidates who are concerned about qualifying the CET examination, which is scheduled to be held on August 2, 2026. The online form-filling process for CET will begin on June 20, 2026. The college help desk has already addressed many queries of candidates and has provided them with satisfactory guidance. The help desk will also provide coaching to admission aspirants related to the entrance test.

Innocent Hearts College of Education observed World No Tobacco Day

The Red Ribbon club (RRC) of Innocent Hearts College of Education organized ‘World No Tobacco day’ under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Program based on the theme ‘Tobacco is killing us and our planet, it is a serious threat to our environment’. A poster-making competition was organised to spread the message - Commit to Quit. Through their posters, the student-teachers emphasized that chewing tobacco and smoking are life-threatening and have negative effects not only on physical health but also on mental well-being. RRC incharge Ms. Tarunjyoti Kaur told the student-teachers to be alert about their social surroundings and not to taste anything without knowing what it is. The fact that tobacco kills more than 8 million people every year and destroys our environment by harming human health through its cultivation, production, distribution, consumption and post-consumer waste was displayed through descriptive power point presentations by the RRC volunteers. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh informed that tobacco and alcohol are often referred to as Gateway Drugs, as they are amongst the first substances consumed by adolescents. He motivated the would-be teachers to spread awareness regarding the ill-effects of these poisonous substances. A pledge-taking ceremony was also organized in which all took pledge to educate the addicts, the society about the serial killer- tobacco which comes in many forms and also beware from even looking at it or touching it.

Innocent Hearts College of Education would-be teachers accomplished the feat of TET clearance


Twelve student-teachers of Innocent Hearts College of Education bought accolades home by clearing TET (Teacher Eligibility test) 2026. Amongst these shining stars are Avneet Kaur, Gurpreet Kaur, Gursimran Kaur, Karan Behl, Mandeep Shahi, Mehak Khera, Mehak Sharma from B.Ed. Session (2024-2026) and Gursimran Kaur, Harleen Kaur, Parmjit Singh, Radhika Sharma, Sakshi Sehgal from B.Ed. Session ( 2025-2027).

Gursimran Kaur and Karan Behl shared that they have cleared the exam with the guidance and support of teachers, the college helps students to qualify such examinations by updating them with the syllabus, eligibility, scheme of examination, procedure and tactics for preparing and qualifying TET, CTET, PSTET and UGC- NET. Mandeep Shahi and Avneet Kaur thanked the members of the Guidance and Counselling cell for conducting individual eclectic counselling interviews which helped them in solving their complex problems and developing confidence for clearing TET. Gurpreet Kaur highlighted that free coaching was provided by the college in which the students discussed Mathematical reasoning questions, probing questions and mock tests were also conducted by the college. All achievers attributed their success to the college Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh and the faculty members.

Innocent Hearts College of Education celebrated Baisakhi festival.


Innocent Hearts College of Education celebrated the spring harvest festival Baisakhi with the objective of preserving and transferring the rich cultural heritage of Punjab to our would-be teachers. Alumni member Nandini elucidated the religious importance of Baisakhi, when Khalsa Panth was formed in the year 1699 under the leadership of Guru Gobind Singhji, the tenth Guru of the Sikhs. Dressed up in her traditional garb, student-teacher Luvisha performed Gidda energetically which made the student-teachers experience the feeling of optimism and togetherness. Student-teacher Aastha demonstrated the importance of Baisakhi festival for the Indian farmers with a descriptive poster.  Bolis and Tappes were chanted which added to the merriment and amusement.

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION GRABS THE LIMELIGHT WITH OUTSTANDING RESULT


The student-teachers of Innocent Hearts College of Education brought accolades home by achieving 93 percent First divisions in the result of GNDU B.Ed. Semester – I Examination (Dec – 2025). The college has always focused on providing qualitative education which is clearly reflected in the students’ academic performance, where 47 percent of student-teachers have achieved more than 7.00 SGPA (Semester Grade Point Average).

Suman achieved first position in the college with 8.10 SGPA, Radhika Sharma bagged second position with 7.90 SGPA and Ashu Jain attained third position in the college with 7.70 SGPA. Suman expressed her heartfelt gratitude towards the almighty, parents and teachers. She said, "This would not have been possible without constant emotional support from my parents. Teachers have always provided their able guidance and timely motivation which led to this academic achievement." Radhika Sharma thankfully uttered, “I am grateful to share that I have secured second position. This achievement is the result of the constant guidance and support of my teachers, especially Principal Sir, who encouraged me throughout. I am also thankful to my family for their unwavering belief in me. This accomplishment inspires me to keep working harder and striving for excellence.”  Ashu Jain expressed, “This achievement is the result of my sincere efforts and determination. I would like to thank my teachers for their valuable guidance and my parents for always motivating me and believing in me”.

Innocent Hearts College of Education observed Martyrs day

The NSS unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education paid homage to the three heroic revolutionaries of India – Bhagat Singh, Shivaram Rajguru and Sukhdev Thapar by observing the Martyrs day. A slogan writing competition on the theme of ‘Reviving slogans of Immortal Indian freedom fighters’ was organised to recall the inspirational quotes like "Inquilab Zindabad" and "Sarfaroshi ki tamanna ab hamare dil mein hai, dekhna ki zor kitna baazu-e-qatil mein hai”, these patriotic lines written by poet Bismil Azimabadi became a war cry for India's freedom struggle against the British rule. Krishan Gopal Singh achieved first position in slogan writing competition.

Innocent Hearts College of Education once again sets a remarkable benchmark in teacher education with an outstanding performance in the GNDU B.Ed. Semester-III Examination. The excellent results clearly reflect the institution’s strong focus on school internship and  community engagement, which play a vital role in shaping competent future educators.

All the student-teachers of the college secured First Division, demonstrating their dedication and the quality of mentoring provided by the institution. 100%  student-teachers achieved distinction, highlighting the consistent academic culture nurtured at the college.

A remarkable 78.7% student-teachers secured the highest SGPA of 9.00, jointly attaining the First position in the college. INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION CELEBRATED HOLI


The student-teachers of Innocent Hearts College of Education celebrated the colourful festival Holi under the essence of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ program conveying the message of Holi being a symbol of love and merriment as well as brotherhood and unity. Spectacular vibrant pigments were displayed by the students in the ‘Natural eco-friendly colour-making competition’. The participants prepared beautiful shades in a very surprising manner with flowers and vegetables. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh and faculty members congratulated the winners and wished all ‘A Safe and Healthy Holi’. In the end, the student-teachers enjoyed playing holi with flowers and organic colours.

Innocent Hearts College of Education organized Drug De-addiction Awareness Seminar

The Red Ribbon club of Innocent Hearts College of Education organized an awareness seminar on ‘Drug prevention, control and treatment measures’ in the adopted village Loharan. This awareness seminar aimed to sensitize villagers about the hazardous drug vulnerabilities and remove their fear of approaching health clinics for treatment.

The villagers were educated about the ill- effects of drug abuse and addiction. All the Red Ribbon club members wore red ribbons, made descriptive posters and charts depicting the helpline numbers to help people get treatment of drug abuse and addiction. RRC volunteer, Neha began the lecture by explaining how drug addiction starts, often through peer pressure or curiosity and later becomes a dangerous habit. She highlighted the ill-effects of drug addiction: physical effects like damage to the liver, lungs, and brain, as well as the psychological impact including anxiety, depression, and loss of concentration. RRC member Yasmeen stressed upon the social drug abuse consequences like broken family relations, poor work performances, misleading one to criminal thoughts.  Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh strongly cautioned against experimenting with drugs even once, as it could lead to dangerous consequences and lifetime regret. RRC Incharge Tarunjyoti Kaur explained the legal consequences, making the students and villagers aware of strict laws and punishments related to drug possession and consumption.

Innocent Hearts College of Education celebrated World Wetlands day

The NSS unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education under the aegis of DISHA-an initiative by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical trust celebrated World Wetlands day with the theme - ‘Wetlands and traditional knowledge: Celebrating cultural heritage’. 

Creative wetland pot painting competition was organised to raise awareness amongst the student-teachers about the vital role of wetlands for people and the planet and the immense need of restoring wetlands. NSS volunteer Kavita Giri and Purnima Sethi achieved first prize in disseminating the message of valuing, managing, restoring and loving wetlands through their realistic pot paintings. Megha Sharma, Ritika Kaura and Isha Bajaj bagged second prize by creatively crafting migratory birds, fishes and animals symbolising the importance of wetlands in saving the lives of many endangered species. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh, NSS Programme officer Ms. Tarunjyoti Kaur and all the NSS volunteers took pledge to take necessary steps for restoring, conserving and using wetlands sustainably. Certificates were given to all the participants.

Innocent Hearts College of Education celebrated Basant Panchami

The student-teachers of Innocent Hearts College of Education celebrated Basant Panchami with the theme ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat - Spring’s Arrival’. Kite-flying, yellow culinary delight and best out of waste competitions were organised by the Cultural club of the college. Dressed in their basanti garbs, the student-teachers enjoyed making yellow dishes and preparing pickles with economic value. All these tasks aimed at providing vocational education and experiential learning to the would-be teachers. Gurmeen Kaur achieved first position and Sanju bagged second position in the culinary delight competition. Vibha Chawla achieved first position in best out of waste competition. Vibrant kites freely tossed in the sky depicting freedom and the arrival of spring.
