Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated the spring harvest festival Baisakhi in order to inculcate the values of team work, co-operation, liveliness, optimism, togetherness amongst the would-be teachers, for spreading the message of ‘work is worship’ and for making the student-teachers experience the joyful feeling of spreading love and happiness.
Dressed up in their colourful finery the student-teachers, Vishali Arora and Sakshi Thakur performed Gidda and Bhangra with the bang rhythmically along with the dhol beats. The student-teachers Nandini Luthra and Pooja Ghosh elucidated the importance of Baisakhi festival for the Indian farmers through their eloquent speeches. Bolis and Tappes were also chanted by the student-teachers in Punjabi language which added to the merriment and amusement.
