Innocent Hearts College of Education celebrated Gandhi Jayanti.

The NSS unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with the aim of promoting Gandhian values - “a clean body cannot reside in an unclean city” and Gandhian philosophy on ‘Vocational Education, Nai Talim and Experiential Learning’ (VENTEL) amongst the would-be teachers. Mahatma Gandhiji accentuated the craft-centered education so a ‘best out of waste’ competition was organised in the college with the theme of ‘changing waste to wealth’ and encouraging alternatives to Single Use Plastic (SUP). All the student-teachers actively practiced handicrafts like hand weaving, pottery making, decorative paper bag making, origami, glass work etc with the waste materials.
Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh explained that according to Gandhiji, True education is for a proper exercise and training of the bodily organs and mental faculties. He further said that it is very much important for our would-be teachers to understand and imbibe the philosophy of education given by our Father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhiji.
