The student-teachers of Innocent Hearts
College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated Baisakhi festival which has great
significance in Sikhism as it is the foundation day of Khalsa Panth. A drama
was enacted by the student-teachers which depicted that Baisakhi marks the time
for harvest of Rabi crops and therefore is extremely significant for farmers. The
student-teachers highlighted the astrological and historical significance of
Baisakhi with the help of multi-media presentation. A quiz was also organized
related to the historical facts of Baisakhi. In the end, the student-teachers
performed giddha and bhangra dance expressing their love and respect for
Punjabi culture and heritage. Principal Dr.Arjinder Singh congratulated the
student-teachers for their excellent performances and told them to transfer
this cultural heritage to the students in the schools where they will teach in
future.
