Komantri Maa Boli March which
started from Lyallpur Khalsa School, Nakodar Chowk to Desh Bhagat Yaadgari
Hallin order to boost the significance and present day relevance of Punjabi
language.Before taking part in the march, Principal of Sacred Hearts College of
Education, Barnala,Dr. Tirath singh, delivered a lecture on the importance of
mother language in the overall growth of society. He said the government and
non-government institutions should promote Punjabi. The student-teachers
carried banners, posters and raised slogans showing their love for punjabi
language and its role in promoting universal brotherhood. A large number of
students took part in it with zeal and enthusiasm.

said that it is very beneficial and important for all to participate in such events
for preservation, transmission and development of Mother tongue, culture and
heritage. Student-teachers took pledge to save Punjabi language from Western
impact and to promote multilingualism in India.

Seminar on Understanding the Direction of Life
“To
keep the body in good health is a duty. Otherwise we shall not be able to keep
our mind strong and clear.” In this context, innocent hearts college of Education,
Jalandhar fascinated the seminar on “Understanding the direction of life.
Ms.
Simmy Joshi, the resource person of the seminar oriented the student-teachers
about the healthy thoughts and feeling in order to aware them about their life.
All the student teachers and faculty members were actively participated in the
seminar. She enlights the students-teachers regarding “how one can adopt a
healthy life style with the help of Yoga and Meditation. She also taught about
the control and prevention of Heart attack and high blood pressure. Certain
doubts raised by the audience were cleared by the resource person.

Dr. Arjinder Singh thanks the resource person for sparing her valuable time and
for sharing best knowledge on” Understanding the direction of life” and assured
such kind of activities will continuous in the college.

ANNUAL SPORTS MEET
Innocent Hearts college of Education, Jalandhar, celebrated Annual Sports Meet
amid great enthusiasm in the college campus. The chief guest was
Mrs. Aradhana Bowry, Executive Director Colleges, Bowry Memorial Educational
and Medical Trust. The inaugration was done with the flag hoisting ceremony
followed by floral welcome.
All the student-teachers took
oath, oath taking
ceremony filled in the hearts of everyone with the spirit of true sportsmanship
and unity. The chief guest in her speech encouraged the partcipants to develop the
spirit of leadership and team work under fair play. Thereafter she declared the
annual sports meet of Innocent Hearts College of Education Open. She mentioned
the importance of sports and told that these activities are very important for
physical and emotional growth of an individual.
The student-teachers participated in various
events, i.e. Obstacle Race, Skipping Race, Baloon Race, Blind Race,
Three-Legged Race, Short Put, Tug of War, Maximum Basket, 50 meter Race, 100
meter Race, Bucket and Sand Race, Back Tangles Race with boundless zeal and
enthusiasm. Alumni members were also called. Special games conducted for them. Cultural
show by the student-teachers mesmerized the audience. Principal Dr. Arjinder
Singh presided over the closing ceremony of this event. He gave away the prizes
and congratulated the winners. He encouraged the students and told them about
the importance of games. He motivated the students for the betterment of civic
responsibilities.

Innocent Hearts College of Education organised a workshop on self-defence
Self defence is not just a set of techniques, it’s a state of mind and
it begins with the belief that you are worth defending. A workshop on
Self-defence was conducted in Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar.
The resource person, Mr. Harpreet Singh Randhawa, karate coach, black belt, in
innocent hearts school, has been teaching this skill since 22 years.
The martial arts training was carried out with active participation from
student-teachers as well as faculty
members of the college. Appraising the student-teachers about the importance of
Self Defence, Mr. Harpreet taught the girls some easy yet effective techniques
to defend themselves. He motivated the student-teachers to speak up against
crimes and gave them tips about what to do if they are trapped in an
undesirable situation.He also gave the student-teachers a demonstration of
street fight techniques in real life scenarios. All the students and faculty
members showed their keen interest in the workshop and they were happy to learn
the ways of self-defence. Motivating the students to learn this skill of self
defence, Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh said that we live in that society where
crime against women has risen to a shocking extent, the ability to protect
ourselves from undesirable situations has become a necessity, so self-defence,
especially for women, is of the utmost importance in the kind of the world we
live in today.He also thanked the resource person for sparing his valuable time
and for sharing his knowledge on self-defence and assured such kind of
activities will continue in the college.
