CELEBRATION OF ‘BASANT FESTIVAL’ IN
INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

In order to preserve Punjabi culture and heritage, ‘Basant Festival’ was celebrated in Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar on Jan 24, 2015. With great zeal and vigour. Almost all the students participated in competitions like – Kite Flying, Snacks Preparation, Dessert Preparation, Yellow Dish Preparation, Singing, Dancing and Modelling. The students as well as the Staff was dressed in yellow coloured clothes. Heena got first prize in Yellow Dish and Dessert Preparation Competitions. Fun games and dances were enjoyed by one and all. Mrs Aradhana Bowry, The Executive Director of College addressed the students and highlighted that this festival symbolizes change, change in season from winter to colourful spring, thus inspiring the individual to strive for prosperity. The Principal Dr. D.K Joshi appreciated the efforts of the students and encouraged the students to perform with the same spirit in the coming future also. The entire show was colourful and full of fun and frolic.

Over all trophy bagged by Students

          The Students of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Green Model Town, Jalandhar bagged over-all trophy in Inter-College Skill-in-teaching and On the Spot Teaching Aid Preparation Competitions held at M.K College of Education, Shahpur on January 20, 2015. Simerdeep Kaur, Aditi Wasil won first prize respectively in Skill-in-teaching S.St, and Commerce. Priyanka won first prize and Vasunhara and Saumya Mehta won second prize in On the spot Teaching Aid Preparation. The Principal Dr. D.K Joshi, Mrs. Aradhana Bowry (Executive Director) and the Faculty members of the college congratulated the students and appreciated their efforts.

New Year Celebration

Innocent Hearts College of Education celebrated New Year by organizing Cultural Activities in College Campus. Self Composed Couplets and Poems were presented by Students. Solo Dance performances were also presented. Executive Director of College Mrs. Aradhana   Bowry , Principal and Staff members wished  a Happy and Prosperous 2015 to all students and prayed to Almighty  that He should  shower blessings on all of them.

                                                Armed Forces Flag Day Celebration
 
Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated Armed Forces Flag Day on December 5, 2014 with great enthusiasm, zeal and fervour. A cultural Bonanza including dance performances, patriotic songs, skits and speeches on the importance of armed forces flag were presented by the students. The motive behind this celebration was to pay tribute to the courageous and martyred soldiers who sacrificed their lives for our safety. The purpose was to sensitize the students to honour and respect soldiers, sailors and army men of India and to work earnestly for the harmony of citizens. At the end the principal Dr. D. K. Joshi appreciated the efforts put in by the students and expected the same from them in the coming future also.

EXTENSION LECTURE ORGANISED

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar organized Extension lecture on ‘Norms of CBSE/PSEB for opening the school’ under the able guidance of the Principal DR. D.K Joshi.

The resource person was Mr. Vikas Sharma, Asst. Prof. B.K.M College of Education, Balachaur. He made the students aware about essential latest pre-requisites prescribed by the CBSE and Punjab School Education Board in a simple, vivid and lucid style. The spell bound aura was created. The principal thanked the speaker for enlightening the students and hoped that the students will contribute whole heartedly to the cause of education.

Visit of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar to Science City

Students and Faculty members of Innocent Hearts of College of Education, Jalandhar visited Science City on 22nd November 2014. Science City offered a blend of Education, Curiosity and Fun of the visit. It aims at the cultivation of interest in Science through open-ended exploration away from Text books and black boards with a scientific approach to problem solving. It was a firsthand experience for everyone, regarding various experiments, activities, Science Magic’s, Real life phenomena and other day to day applications. Student Teachers discussed their new observation with the faculty. Thus the visit was enriching and fruitful.

An interesting Yoga session was organized at Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar. The student-teachers and teacher-educators performed yoga along with the expert, Mr.Vinod Paul, OPM Institute of Education, Dyallpur. It was informative, stress relieving and the queries of student-teachers were resolved. Principal Dr. D.K. Joshi thanked the Yoga expert and told about the relevance of yoga in our day to day life.

A SESSION ON TEACHING PRACTICE EXPERIENCE


The Student teachers of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar organized session on ‘Teaching Practice Experiences’ on Nov 7, 2014 in the College Auditorium. The student-teachers shared experience of teaching practice in various schools through power-point presentations. They interacted with the Principal and teacher-educators and discussed about the co-curricular activities like anti-cracker campaign, various literary, cultural and Fine Arts competitions, Diwali celebrations organized by them in schools. The session was very beneficial as they were able to analyze the various teaching strategies, discuss team work and provide their feedback.

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar organized Parent-Teachers Meet on 7 Nov, 2014 for the enhancement of Community-College relationship as well as providing educational, vocational, personal guidance and counseling. The parents interacted with the Principal and teachers. Almost all of them were satisfied and happy with the academic effort, co-curricular activities, assessment criteria, rules, regulations and conducive environment of the college. The parents appreciated the faculty members for their effort in improving the all-round personality of their ward e.g optimism, self discipline and family-like relation in which all are entangled with cords of love and belongingness.

First Prize in Inter Zonal Youth Festival


Maintaining the glorious traditions of the past the students of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Green Model Town, Jalandhar, won a number of prizes in different items in literary and cultural Zonal Youth festival of GNDU. Moreover, one of the students Bimalpreet Kaur has been awarded first position in Inter Zonal Poetic Symposium held on  29th October , 2014. The Management, Principal and Faculty members congratulated the students for remarkable achievement.

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION ORGANISED DEMONSTRATION OF TEACHING SKILLS BY ALUMNI MEMBERS

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar organized demonstration of teaching skills on Sep 13, 2014. The Alumni members of the college –Gurjinder Singh, ManjuYadav, Ishpreet Kaur, Talwinderjit Kaur and Nishika gave demonstration on composite lesson in the streams of Science, Computer, Social Science, Languages and Mathematics. These demonstrations were very beneficial for the B.Ed. students. They observed the alumni members, tried to grasp the techniques of teaching and will be using these tactics while they teach their subject.Alumni members interacted with the student-teachers regarding the structure, system of the B.Ed. programme. Teacher-educator In-charge Dr. Randeep Randhawa and faculty members appreciated the alumni members.

                                  TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATIONS                      
                      AT INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

Teacher’s day was celebrated at Innocent Hearts College of Education with great zeal, pomp and show. The function was organized by student-teachers in the auditorium, fun filled activities, group dance, mimicry, modelling, tongue twisters, extempore, bouncing balloon, musical chairs etc were played. The role of teachers in one’s life was also depicted by a power point presentation.
Apart from the fun aspect of the day it was also a day when one could look back, admire and get inspired by Dr. Radhakrishnan who was a staunch believer of education, and was a well known diplomat, scholar, president of India and above all a teacher. Principal DR. D.K. Joshi in his speech encouraged the would-be teachers to make India a more peaceful and blissful place to live in and emphasized that this could be done by future teachers, educators.
In the words of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, the teacher is-

“A literary genius, it is said, resembles all, though no one resembles him.” The Executive Director, BMEMT, Mrs. Aradhana Bowry was also present on the occasion. At the end of the day the students were filled with confidence and positive spirits. The teachers thanked all the students for their active participation and gave best wishes for their future.

EXTENSION LECTURE AND CREATIVE WRITING COMPETITION

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar organized Extension lecture on ‘Communication Skills’ conducted by Mrs. Neelu, experienced IELTS trainer. Creative writing competition was also held among Mother Teresa House, Rabindranath Tagore House and Vivekananda House. The student-teachers wrote essays, poems and stories on the topics ‘health is wealth’, ‘life’ and ‘race’ respectively. The students-teachers got an opportunity to develop their imagination and language skills.

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar organized Inter-house competition in order to develop environmental awareness and team spirit. The students-teachers of Mother Teresa House, Rabindranath Tagore House and Vivekananda House made attractive collages, posters, charts etc related to Health, Social and Environmental issues respectively. They decorated the soft-boards assigned to each house and pondered over these serious issues. Principal, Dr. D.K. Joshi encouraged the student-teachers and appreciated their team work.

TALENT SEARCH ‘PARICHAY – 2014’


Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar organized Talent Hunt ‘Parichay-2014’ on          Aug 20th & 21st in order to bring out the hidden aptitude of the students and help them realize their individual worth. Mrs. Aradhana Bowry, Executive Director B.M.E.M.T was the Chief Guest of the day. The student-teachers actively participated in various activities like Rangoli, Collage making, Slogan writing, Painting, Best-out-of-waste, Debate, Poetry Recitation, Mimicry, Group dance, Folk songs etc. The audience was spell bound with the lively and colourful performance of the students. Principal, Dr. D.K. Joshi boosted the morale of the students and congratulated the winners.
