INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION CELEBRATED SADBHAWNA DIWAS

Sadbhawna Divas was celebrated by the N.S.S Unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Green Model Town Jalandhar. Pledge taking ceremony was conducted by N.S.S Coordinator Ms.Binderjit Kaur (Asst. Prof.) in order to instill the feelings of National integration, peace, Love, Goodwill and communal harmony. Video clips and PPT’s were also shown to the student-teachers .Principal Dr. D.K Joshi emphasized on the theme of Sadbhawana Divas and advised to lead a life of goodwill, peace and harmony.

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar organized Hawan on August 20th, 2015 for a pure and pristine commencement of the new session. The students, faculty members, Principal and members of management participated in the prayer ceremonies. The message that spirituality and excellence go hand in hand was imparted. The new entrants were accorded a warm welcome and showered with blessings by the management, Principal and the College fraternity. The Hawan was followed by an Orientation Programme in which students were briefed about the institution and B.Ed. programme. Principal Dr. D.              INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION HAS SET UP A HELP DESK


As online form filling and counselling for B.Ed 2014 -15 under GNDU has started on July 17, 2015, Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar has set up a help desk to help the candidates. The help desk serves not only those who are aspiring to take admission in this college but also those who want to join other colleges. The College Help desk will assist the students in form filling, generating bank slip, selecting subject combinations and other related issues.

TREE PLANTATION AT VILLAGE LOHARAN

        Staff members of Innocent Hearts College of Education planted about 50 trees at village Loharan adopted under N.S.S. Further planning about other projects related to environment and health were discussed with zila parishad S. Kulwant Singh Hethi. Village Sarpanch Advocate Surjit Pal appreciated the services of staff members.

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar has maintained its glorious traditions of the past by showing excellent performance in the University B.Ed. examination 2014-15. The students have brought victory home by winning 45% distinctions. They have won maximum merit positions and 98 % of the students have passed in first division. The topper of the college are Muskan Jolly (First), Aditi Wasil(Second) and Savneet Kaur (Third) . The College Principal Dr. D.K.Joshi attributed this success to the team work of faculty members, students and cooperation extended by the management.
The members of the management, the college Principal Dr. D.K.Joshi and staff congratulated the students for their achievement and brilliant result.

Wonderful Performance by Students


The Students of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Green Model Town, Jalandhar bagged prizes in Inter-College Skill in Teaching and on the spot Teaching aid Preparation Competition held in school of Education, lovely Professional University, Phagwara. Nidhi Kaushal won first prize in Skill in Teaching Commerce. Priyanka and Saumya Mehta won First prize in on the spot Teaching Aid Preparation Competition in Teaching of Science and Teaching in Commerce. Surbhi and Nidhi Sehgal won Second Prize in on the spot Teaching Aid Preparation Competition in Teaching English and Teaching of Economics. The Principal Dr. D.K Joshi, Ms Aradhana Bowry (Executive director Colleges) and the Faculty members of the colleges congratulated the students and appreciated their efforts.

EXTENSION LECTURE ORGANISED

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar organized Extension lecture on “Constructivism in Lesson Planning” on May 2, 2015 under the able guidance of the Principal DR. D.K Joshi.
The resource person was Dr. (Mrs). Radha Arora, Asst. Prof. M.G.N College of Education, Jalandhar. She made the students aware how the concepts can be established in the minds of the learners   in    vivid and lucid style. Dr. Tirath Singh  Principal, Sacred Heart college of Education, Barnala,  prepared the ground for Constructivism in lesson planning  and also explained to the students the history of the Constructivism .The resource person related constructivism with inclusive class room. She discussed steps of constructivists approach. She motivated the students to use new approach of teaching in real schools. The principal thanked the speaker for enlightening the students and hoped that the students will contribute whole heartedly to the cause of education

                                         ANNUAL PRIZE DISTRIBUTION’ HELD AT
                                  INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

‘Annual Prize Distribution’ function was organized at Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar on April 29, 2015. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Chander Bowry, Financial Secretary BMEMT as Chief Guest of the day. Among the other guests present was Ms. Aradhana Bowry, Executive Director of Colleges. Mementos, certificates and numerous prizes were given to students for special talent/ academic or cultural achievements. Teachers and students performed various activities like songs, poetry recitation, power point presentation etc. The atmosphere was full of exuberance and fervor.  The Chief Guest boosted the morale of the students and congratulated them. Dr. D.K Joshi presented the vote of thanks.

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION ORGANISED
PRACTICE TEACHING AT LABOUR SCHOOL

Bowry Memorial Educational & Medical Trust involved its student-teachers in community service i.e. teaching in Labour children school at Bhagat Singh Colony, Maqsudan, is run by Prof. Lakhbir Singh President PAHAL. Labour day was celebrated in this school and student-teachers were divided into different groups to teach the children. This Practice teaching started from April 23, 2015 and will continue till May 16, 2015.

This was a different kind of experience for the would-be teachers where they got an opportunity to closely interact with children whose parents are working as labourers and the school teachers discussed the methodologies adopted for teaching them. Ex. Director Ms. Aradhana Bowry and staff members urged B.Ed. students to step forward and contribute in realizing the objective of Right to Education (RTE).

                                Cleanliness Camp

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Green Model Town, and Jalandhar organized cleanliness Camp at Kanjali Kapurthala, under NSS Activity. Almost all the students participated with zeal and enthusiasm. The students cleaned the main areas of Kanjali. The students took pledge that they will give 100 hours in a year for cleanliness .The teachers also made the students aware about the importance of clean environment and what steps we should take to save our environment.

Annual Sports Meet Organized

          Annual Sports Meet was organized in Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar on February 24, 2015. Ms. Shelly Bowry, Director, Innocent Hearts Schools, Jalandhar was the Chief-Guest in the inaugural ceremony. There was 100% active participation of the students. The main events were 100 mt Race, 200 mt Race, Three-legged Race, Relay Race, Shot-Put, Obstacle Race and Kho-Kho. Mrs. Aradhana Bowry, Executive Director, Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar was the Chief-Guest at the Prize Distribution Ceremony. She gave away prizes to the winners of the Sports Meet and congratulated them and appreciated the efforts of the students Swami Vivekanand House was adjudged the best house in the Sports Meet. Dr. D.K. Joshi Principal, congratulated the winners and expected the would-be-teachers will organize such activities in their schools during their career for the physical development of the students.

International Mother Tongue Day Celebration

International Mother Tongue Day was celebrated by Panjab Jagriti Manch, Jalandhar on February 21, 2015. On this occasion a march was organized in which Faculty members and Students of our college participated. The March was from Lyallpur Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Nakodar Chowk to Desh Bhagat Yaadgari Hall. The Students carried Banners, Placards and raised Slogans highlighting the significance of mother tongue Punjabi and its role in promoting Universal Brotherhood. All the participants participated with zeal and enthusiasm.

Extension Lecture Organized


            Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar organized an Extension Lecture on understanding Learner and Learning Process by Dr. (Mrs) Harjot Kaur, Former Associate Professor of M.G.N College of Education, Jalandhar. She shared her knowledge on ‘Theories of Learning’ in simple, lucid and vivid style. The visuals shown through PPT were very interesting and it caught the attention of the students. The faculty members thanked the speaker for sharing her invaluable knowledge.

Inter-College Competitions Organized
Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar organized Inter College Competition on February 14, 2015. About 20 Colleges of Education from and around Jalandhar participated in the events-
Chalkboard Writing Competition, Slide Presentation, Elocution, Educational Quiz, Poster and Collage Making.
The objective of the competition is the holistic development of the would be teachers.
In Chalkboard writing competition (English), the first position was bagged by Sri Guru Teg Bahadur College of Education, Khankot second position was bagged by Kamla Nehru College of Education, Phagwara and D.A.V College of Education, Amritsar got third position. M.G.N College of Education, Jalandhar got Consolation Prize.
In Chalkboard writing competition (Hindi) OPM Institute of Education, Dyallpur bagged first position, Lyallpur Khalsa College of Education, Jalandhar bagged second position and Kirpal Sagar College of Education, Nawanshahr got third position. Sai College of Education, Jadla, Nawanshahr got Consolation Prize.
In Chalkboard writing competition (Punjabi) Sri Guru Angad Dev College of Education, Khadur Sahib got first position, Guru Nanak College of Education for Women, Kapurthala got second position and M.G.N College of Education, Jalandhar got third position. OPM Institute of Education, Dyallpur got Consolation Prize.         
In Slide Presentation, Ramgarhia College of Education, Phagwara secured first position, Lyallpur Khalsa College of Education, Jalandhar secured second position and Sri Guru Teg Bahadur College of Education, Khankot secured third position. Lord Krishna College of Education, Sultanpur Lodhi got Consolation prize.
In Elocution, D.A.V College of Education, Amritsar got first position S.M.D.R.S.D College of Education, Pathankot got second position and Lyallpur Khalsa College of Education, Jalandhar third position. Ramgarhia College of Education, Phagwara got consolation prize.
In Educational Quiz, Ramgarhia College of Education, Phagwara bagged first position, Sri Guru Angad Dev College of Education, Khadur Sahib bagged second position and D.A.V College of Education, Amritsar and Lyallpur Khalsa College of Education, Jalandhar got Consolation Prize.
In Poster Making M.G.N College of Education, Jalandhar bagged first position, Ramgarhia College of Education, Phagwara bagged second position, Kamla Nehru College of Education, Phagwara bagged third prize, D.A.V College of Education, Amritsar got Consolation Prize.
In Collage Making Sri Guru Angad Dev College of Education, Khadur Sahib bagged first prize, D.A.V College of Education, Amritsar bagged second prize, DIPS College of Education, Dhilwan bagged third prize and M.K College of Education, Shahpur got Consolation Prize.
Overall trophy was bagged by D.A.V College of Education, Amritsar.
Dr. D.K. Joshi, Principal Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar congratulated the winners and thanked all present in the event and expected the same cooperation in future also from them.
