The resource person was Mr. Kanwaljit Singh, a representative of ' Centre for Investment Education and learning'. His main focus was building long-term wealth and providing a learning forum for investors. The interactive training session was informative. He demonstrated on the concepts of savings and investments, retirement with savings, building long- term wealth through understanding risk and return, various investment avenues and their benefits and limitations. A question-answer session was held in the end. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh thanked the resource person and said that such financial literacy programs are beneficial for the would-be teachers as this provides them awareness about the investment opportunities to make their life and future more secure.

Innocent Hearts College of Education organized Panel Discussion on Gender Inequality: Issues of Marriage
The panel discussion on
the topic of syllabus Gender Inequality was held on January 30, 2019 in
Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar. Dr. Tirath Singh, Principal of
Sacred Heart College of Education Barnala, was a coordinator and resource
person. The members of Panel were Ms. Harjap Kaur, Ms. Swati Verma, Ms. Chandni,
and Ms. Sapandeep Kaur. The Panel discussion was organized with the purpose to
prepare girls for better adjustment with their life partner. The major issued
discussed were ‘Is Marriage compulsory or not? , How girls are highly forced to
get married? , Role of society and family as an important stressor for girls,
Love marriage Vs Arrange marriage and its failure and success’. The various
conclusion/ strategies drawn out from discussion:- The victim should go/ seek
social help, the girls should be made financially independent, Pre-marital
(Physical) relationship are highly discouraged by panel. The females need to become competent
in life skills, the females need to be highly optimistic, society need not
pressurize girls/females for marriage; parents need to understand and support
the prospective of their girl child about marriage.

Singh thanks the resource person for sparring his valuable time and for sharing
his knowledge on Gender Inequality-Issues of Marriage and assured such kind of
activities will continue in the college.

Education, Dhilwan on Jan 23, 2019. Keeping in mind, the development of
co-scholastic aspects of the student’s personality, all the students are
motivated to participate in such activities and are trained for each
co-curricular item.
Diksha Trehan, student-teacher of B.Ed. Semester-IV stood first in
Poster-making competition and Jasmin Mahajan, student-teacher of B.Ed.
Semester-II achieved second prize in Declamation contest.
The Management, Principal and faculty members appreciated the
participants and congratulated the winners for their excellent
performances.

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION JALANDHAR CELEBRATED GREEN DIWALI
Innocent Hearts College
of Education organized anti-cracker campaign week from Oct 29, 2018 to Nov 3,
2018 during the School Internship programme in the various schools of Jalandhar
i.e. Innocent Hearts School Lohara, Innocent Hearts School Green Model Town, Royal
World School, Social Convent School and Lyallpur Khalsa Public School,
Jalandhar. Various activities were organized each day with an aim to curb the
temptation of bursting fire crackers and in turn save our earth from the devil
of pollution. The student-teachers gave speeches and showed power point
presentations on issues related to the menace resulting from fire crackers, anti-cracker
poster-making competitions, diya decoration, rangoli competitions were
organised and processions were taken out in the nearby villages to spread
awareness of the harmful effects of crackers, student-teachers and school
students uttered slogans and pledged to make the environment more clean and
green. Prizes and certificates were given to the school students. The college
Principal, Dr. Arjinder Singh was the guiding force behind the whole event. He
said that we should light our souls during Diwali and transfer this positivism
to others around us.

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION CELEBRATED TEACHERS DAY
The student-teachers of Innocent
Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar organised the function on Teachers day
in the auditorium. The programme started with the prayer ceremony followed by the
floral welcome of the Chief Guest Mrs. Aradhana Bowry, Executive Director (Colleges),
Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust. The student-teachers gave a
welcome speech and bouquets to their educators and guests. This was followed by
a power point presentation depicting the importance of teachers. There were
solo dance performances and solo songs dedicated to the college teachers were
sung by the student-teachers. Dr. Tirath Singh, Principal Sacred Hearts College
of Education gave an inspirational speech on the ‘Vision of Teacher Education
in India’. The students also conducted a quiz for the teachers in which the
teachers were divided into two teams. There were three rounds of intellectual
and fun-filled activities by the teachers. Self-composed poems were recited by
the student-teachers. Group song was sung.
Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh in his
speech stated that teachers have a lot of responsibility on their shoulders
because Teaching is a profession that teaches all the other professions, in
other words, they are the nation-builders. So in this digital world the
would-be teachers should vigilantly perform their School Internship programmes
and academic training so that they give their best in the schools in future. The
function ended with the recitation of the National Anthem and the teachers
thanked the students for their marvellous performances.
