INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION ORGANISED TALENT HUNT

 Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar under the aegis of DISHA an initiative by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical trust organized Talent Hunt-2022 on the theme of ‘Go Green’ and ‘Say no to plastic’. The student-teachers actively participated in literary items- Elocution, Debate and Poetical Symposium and artistic items – Painting, Poster making and Slogan writing. In order to cultivate the teaching skills amongst the student-teachers ‘Skill of Blackboard writing’ and ‘Best out of waste’ competitions were organized in which the student-teachers learnt the art of writing legibly and making creative teaching aids with waste material respectively. The atmosphere was filled with sentiments and harmony during the Solo Song performances of the student-teachers. The audience was spell bound with the energetic Indian Classical Dance and Folk Dance performances of the student-teachers. Participation in these activities aimed at bringing out the hidden aptitudes of the student- teachers and in helping them to realize their individual worth. The judgement was done keeping in mind the rules and criteria set for each item. Executive Director (Colleges) BMEMT, Mrs. Aradhana Bowry bestowed gifts upon the achievers. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh boosted the morale of participants, gave prizes and certificates to the winners.

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated International Mother Tongue day.

 The NSS unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated ‘Maa Boli Divas’ with the objective to enrich and preserve the purity and glory of Punjabi language and culture.

A pledge taking ceremony was organized in which the educators and student-teachers swore to protect, preserve and transmit their mother tongue for the coming generations in its pure form and to impart their mother tongue by integrating it with culture.

Online Slogan writing and Poster-making competitions were also organized. Through their artistic posters,  the student-teachers depicted their love and respect for their mother tongue. Sakshi Thakur and Vishali Arora bagged first prize and Vasudha Khanna achieved second prize in poster making competition. A plethora of slogan writings highlighted the significance and present day relevance of Punjabi language. Nandini Luthra achieved first prize, Gaganpreet Kaur won second prize and Megha Sharma bagged third prize in slogan writing competition.

Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh congratulated the winners and appreciated all the participants for their brilliant demonstrations. Certificates were given to all the participants.

 

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated Basant Panchami virtually.

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated Basant Panchami by organising culinary competition and kite-flying competition. These activities were aimed to enhance creativity, critical thinking power  and develop aesthetic sense as well as technicality among the student-teachers. 

In their Basanti attires, the student-teachers whole-heartedly participated in the kite-flying activity. Vishali Arora bagged first prize in kite-flying, she said that ‘It was a stress-relieving experience for me. I imagined myself soaring high up in the sky along with my kite.’

To enhance the culinary skills of the student-teachers, yellow dish-making activity was organised in which scrumptious dishes were prepared and the recipe was  shared online by the participants. Execution, appearance, texture and confidence were the parameters used for judgement. Nandini Luthra and Preeti achieved first prize and Aashna and Vishali Arora bagged second prize in Yellow dish-making competition. These activities also helped the student-teachers to improve their  presentation skills. 

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated World Wetlands day

 

The NSS unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar under the aegis of DISHA-an initiative by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical trust celebrated World Wetlands day with the theme - ‘Wetlands Action for People and Nature’. 

Various online activities were organised to raise awareness about the vital role of wetlands for people and planet and the immense need of restoring wetlands. NSS volunteer Vishali Arora achieved first prize for  disseminating the message of valuing, managing, restoring and loving wetlands through her realistic paintings. Preeti and Vishali Arora bagged first prize in Orizuru competition by creatively  crafting migratory birds symbolising the importance of  wetlands in  saving the lives of many endangered species. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh, NSS Programme officer Ms. Tarunjyoti Kaur and all the NSS volunteers took an online pledge to take necessary steps for restoring, conserving and using wetlands sustainably.

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, JALANDHAR CELEBRATED REPUBLIC DAY VIRTUALLY

 

The NSS unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated virtual Republic day for reviving the spirit of nationalism and for paying tribute to the martyrs who had sacrificed their lives to behold the face of free Mother India. Patriotic solo singing competition was organized on the theme of ‘Rich cultural heritage of India’ in which Nandini achieved first prize. Sakshi Thakur danced very gracefully on the song beats of 'Ae Watan, Mere Watan’, she bagged first prize in Patriotic dance competition.

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, JALANDHAR CELEBRATED VIRTUAL LOHRI FESTIVAL

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated Online Lohri festival for enriching the traditional punjabi customs and for inculcating the values of togetherness, chivalry, purity and for spreading love and joy. Virtual Cultural Programme started with online dance and singing ‘Tappe’ competitions. By listening to the online legendary tales depicting acts of bravery, the feelings of sacrifice, valour and patriotism were reinforced amongst the student-teachers. Online Collage-making competition was also organized on the theme of ‘Significance of Lohri for Punjabi farmers’ and ‘Punjabi cuisine and customs followed on this day’. Aashna Kaur and Preeti achieved first prize in Collage-making competition. Sakshi Thakur bagged first prize in folk dance competition. Vishali Arora grabbed first prize in folk song competition. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh highlighted the importance of celebrating Lohri. He said that the people worship the sun god and the fire and thank them for the good harvest. The social evils and any negative feelings should also be burnt in the bonfire.

                                                          

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar welcomed the New Year 2022 with merriment and gaiety.

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated new year’s eve with the title ‘A Sparkling Happy New Year - 2022’ incorporating the theme ‘Happiness is not measured by what you hold in your hands, but by what you hold in your heart.’

In order to enhance the creativity, imagination and language skills amongst the student-teachers, digital card-making competition, decoration contest and language games were organized. 

The whole campus was decorated creatively with twinkling colourful lights and greenery. The event started with a prayer ceremony in which all prayed to the almighty for being blessed with peace, prosperity, wisdom, well-being and freedom from all the variants of Covid-19 and other diseases.  Some student-teachers expressed their views through mesmerizing songs and self-composed poems. New year resolutions were taken. Beautiful digital cards were created and shared by student-teachers.

The celebration continued with best wishes and blessings from the Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh and faculty members. Jyotika achieved first prize in decoration contest.  Shakshi Thakur and Vishali Arora achieved first prize in Digital card making competition. Purvi Kalra bagged first prize for organising tongue twisters which added fun to the jovial environment. All wished each other peace, harmony, wholeness, prosperity; physical, mental and spiritual well-being in the coming year and in the years to come.

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, JALANDHAR CELEBRATED NATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION DAY.

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated National Energy Conservation day with the objective of spreading mass awareness about using energy efficiently in our daily life. Various competitions were organized on the theme of this year’s celebration that is "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav: Energy Efficient India". 

With the help of working models like Techno vibes, Flywheel, windmill etc, the student-teachers demonstrated the impact of conscious energy conservation on our environment and well-being. The ways and means to conserve energy in our day to day life were illustrated through power-point presentations.

Ms. Vishali Arora, a student-teacher of B.Ed. Sem-I achieved first prize in the preparation and demonstration of a working model on ‘Solar Power Stadium’. She explained that most widely used sources of energy take thousands of years for formation. Solar energy is a vital renewable resource which is used all over the world to produce electricity and fulfill our mechanical needs. Some student- teachers represented videos of scientific simulation. They gave tips to use energy properly in the kitchen and at homes.

 Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh said that implementing these energy conservation strategies will have a positive impact on our lives. He appreciated efforts made by the whole team and explained that it is very much important to conserve energy for our future generation. In the end, a pledge was taken of not wasting any type of energy at homes and workplaces.

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, JALANDHAR OBSERVED WORLD AIDS DAY

 

The NSS unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar observed World Aids day to spread awareness regarding AIDS, call for an increased response to move towards “Ending the HIV Epidemic” and speak out against HIV stigma following the theme of World AIDS Day 2021 which is “End inequalities. End AIDS”.  The NSS volunteers shared facts and medically accurate information about HIV and AIDS. NSS volunteer Pooja Ghosh elucidated the symptoms of HIV and treatment of AIDS in her speech. She highlighted medical facts with the help of a flex and achieved first prize in demonstration.

All the student-teachers and faculty members wore red ribbons to raise awareness about AIDS. AIDS awareness slogans ‘Let’s Stop HIV Together’, ‘Open your eyes before AIDS closes them’ etc resonated through the air.

A Poster-making competition was also organized in which the student-teachers prepared descriptive posters and made videos demonstrating their posters. These videos were shared through online modes in order to spread knowledge about HIV myths and promote its prevention. Nidha Gupta achieved first prize in Poster-making competition.

Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh highlighted the fact that the world is facing new diseases each day. He further said that “we all should take constructive steps to eliminate chronic diseases for making our planet safe and spreading awareness about AIDS disease in communities is must, which our NSS unit volunteers are doing to a great extent.”   

 

 

 

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, JALANDHAR ORGANISED AN ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR B.ED. ENTRANTS

  

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar organized an Orientation Programme to acquaint the new student-teachers with the B.Ed. Programme (2021-2023). The student-teachers were briefed about all the institutions run by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust of the college. They were familiarized with the eminent members of the management, the meritorious history of the college, the cells and committees, the rules and regulations of the college.

Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh formally welcomed and addressed the new-comers. He briefed the student-teachers about the glorious scholastic and the co-scholastic achievements of the former students of the college and  introduced the faculty members. Assistant Professor Ms. Tarunjyoti Kaur discussed the scheme of study, co-curricular and NSS activities regularly organised by the college during the whole B.Ed. session.

Executive Director Mrs. Aradhana Bowry encouraged the student-teachers to pursue their goal of success with full dedication and commitment. They were reminded of the fact that great teaching is more than a handful of teaching tricks strung together with modest aims and sufficient expertise. The Members of Management, the College Principal and faculty members warmly welcomed and bestowed their blessings upon the new students.

 

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated International day of Endurance

 

The student- teachers of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated ‘International  day of Endurance’ on the theme given by UNESCO that tolerance is respect, acceptance, and appreciation of the rich diversity of our world's cultures, our forms of expression and ways of being human.

A Drama was enacted by the would-be teachers Komal Verma, Kanika Rana, Parmjit Kaur, Tanu Arora, Harleen Kaur, Monika and Chanderkala to spread the message that the quality of being tolerant is very much essential for becoming  a good teacher as ‘Teaching without talent, compassion and endurance is like an octopus on skates – there will be movement without direction’. – K.B. Ghosh. By depicting different scenes of classroom situations the student-teachers highlighted that ‘Endurance is not just the ability to bear a difficult thing, but to turn it into glory’ as quoted by William Barclay.

Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh appreciated the team work and explained to the student-teachers that being tolerant removes one's self-imposed barriers by allowing one to think more broadly and enjoy greater inner peace.  Tolerance is an amazing tool that can help to make the classroom environment democratic and lively in which all can contribute together harmoniously and peacefully.

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, JALANDHAR CELEBRATED ANTI-CRACKER DIWALI WEEK

 

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar under the auspices of DISHA - An initiative by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical trust organized an ‘Anti-cracker and Anti-plastic week’ with the motto of “Go Green” and with the aim of propagating the message of celebrating eco-friendly Diwali.

Keeping our environment clean and green is very important and Diwali is the best time to decorate our houses and surroundings. On the first day ‘Toran-making creativeness’ competition and Rangoli competition with the theme of “the triumph of good over evil” and “Goddess Lakshmi Rangoli designs for Diwali” were organized. Nishu Walia and Keerat preet Kaur achieved first prize in ‘Toran-making creativeness’ and Chanderkala and Harneet Kaur bagged first prize in Rangoli competition.

On the second day the student-teachers and teacher-educators pledged that they would never make use of plastic bags which are a major source of pollution, instead they creatively prepared attractive Diwali gift packages with waste paper material. Slogan writing competition with pictures on theme of “This Diwali burst your ego not crackers” was organized on the third day. Palak Ratta achieved first prize by artistically writing the slogan -“Let's fill our minds and homes with lights and flowers. Not explosives and fumes”. Diya decoration and poster-making competitions were organized on the fourth day. Next two days the student-teachers visited nearby govt schools to explain to the children the various ways to celebrate green Diwali.

 Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh explained to the student-teachers that Diwali is a festival of lights so lights should be illuminated from within each one of us to follow the path of righteousness by overcoming our negative thoughts and weaknesses.

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, JALANDHAR EXHIBITED SPECTACULAR YIELDS IN SEM-I B.ED. EXAMINATION.

    The hard work of the student-teachers of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar bore fruitful results with 100% first divisions in the GNDU B.Ed. Examination Sem - I (Dec 2020). Fifty-four percent student-teachers attained more than 80% marks.

Kritika Maggo stood first in the college with 89.7% marks, Nargis Jaitwani achieved second position in the college with 89% marks, Gunpreet Kaur and Tanu Arora bagged third position with 87% marks and Palak Ratta got fourth position in the college with 85.9% marks. All the achievers thanked the Principal and faculty members for providing qualitative Digitalized Education and for acting as facilitators in the teaching- learning process. Kritika Maggo said, “For my achievement, I am thankful to all my teachers for their best cooperation and I am so grateful and happy to choose Innocent Hearts College of Education for my B.Ed. degree. I would like to extend my gratitude to my parents and family for being my constant support.” Nargis Jaitwani said, “I am grateful to my teachers for their encouragement and enthusiasm to teach. I wish I could imbibe in myself the same values as they have.” 

The members of the Management, Principal and staff members congratulated all the student-teachers for their brilliant attainments. Executive director (colleges), BMEMT, Mrs. Aradhana Bowry congratulated the medalists and motivated all the student-teachers to put in more effort in the next semester also.  Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh attributed this success to the team work of faculty members, students and cooperation extended by the Management.

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, JALANDHAR CELEBRATED NATIONAL UNITY DAY

 

The NSS unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated National Unity day to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and for instilling a sense of belonging to our nation in the hearts of every citizen of India.

  A pledge taking ceremony was organized to provide the student-teachers an opportunity for reaffirming their inherent strength and resilience to stand against threats to the national unity, integrity and security of our nation INDIA.  Patriotic solo singing and solo dance performances were also organized on the theme of ‘Unity in Diversity'. Komal sang the patriotic song ‘Salaam India, Jhuke tere aage sar’ with great zeal and fervour. The student-teachers of NSS unit danced very gracefully on the song beats of 'Mera Des Rangeela'.  Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh in his speech highlighted the importance of unity by explaining that unity is strength and the onus of keeping India united is on the shoulders of our student-teachers i.e. would-be teachers.
