INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION PAVING ITS WAY TOWARDS DIGITALIZED EDUCATION

In this era of digitalization, it is very important for educationists to incorporate digitalization in Education. Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar has always focused on qualitative education since its inception and now it is incorporating digitalization. Principal of the college, Dr. Arjinder Singh has been recently certified with O+ grade (90-100) for his active participation in the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on ICT Integration in Higher Education. He motivated the student-teachers and teacher-educators to use digital resources and platforms in the teaching-learning process. The management and faculty members congratulated him for this recognition.

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION ORGANISED YOGA WORKSHOP

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar organised Yoga workshop on April 10, 2017. The workshop was conducted by eminent yoga experts of Yog-path Sansthan – President Dr. Vinod Kumar Paul, Vice President Ms. Anudeep and Prof. SK Arora. The experts gave description about various yoga activities, their benefits and demonstrated the breathing techniques, exercises and meditation. There were interactive sessions along with yoga-aasan session, stress-relieving session and question-answer session. Later the student-teachers and teacher-educators practiced yoga along with the experts. Tips were also given to live healthier life. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh thanked the yoga experts and explained the relevance of yoga in our day to day life.

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION UNWINDS AN EXCELLENT RESULT OF SEM3

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar has maintained its glorious traditions of the past by achieving excellent result in the University B.Ed Examination, Sem III Dec-2016. 100% of the students have passed in first division. Nidhi Sehgal, Parmit Kaur, Harleen Kaur, Geetu and Shaifali Nagpal got first positions in the college. Parul Sethi got second position in the college. The student-teachers who achieved third positions are Rachna, Rupinder and Neha Mehta. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh appreciated that all the student- teachers have performed marvelously well in their “Classroom teaching” assessment. The members of the management, the college principal Dr. Arjinder Singh and staff congratulated the students for their achievement and brilliant result.

The students of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar have brought victory home by achieving maximum pass percentage in the University B.Ed. Examination Sem-I – Dec 2016. Nighty percent students have passed in First division. The three toppers of the college are Archita Saini (First) with 74.5% marks, Harsimran Kocchar (Second) with 74.3% marks and Loveleen Kaur (Third) with 73.6% marks. The College Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh attributed this success to the team work of faculty members, students and cooperation extended by the management.

The members of the management, principal and staff members congratulated the students for their achievement and brilliant success.

Holi Celebration

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar organised an Extension lecture on the “Use of Natural holi colours while celebrating Holi festival”. The main focus of the lecture was the  prevention of air pollution and maximum utilization of renewable substances. Nagesh Bhardwaj, student-teacher of the college explained the difference between organic and inorganic substances and harmful effects of using chemical colours.
Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh said that ‘Safe Holi’ should be played and environmental awareness should be spread. Natural organic holi colours were distributed among the student-teachers. Later the teachers and student-teachers played holi with these colours.

Participation in ‘International Mother Tongue Day’ march

The student-teachers and teacher-educators of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar took part in the Komantri Maa Boli march which started from Lyallpur Khalsa School, Nakodar Chowk to  Desh Bhagat Yaadgar Hall on 21-Feb-2017. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh said that in order to boost the significance and present day relevance of Punjabi language it is necessary for all to take part whole - heartedly in such events. It was organized by ‘Punjabi Jagrati Manch’. A large number of students took part in it with zeal and enthusiasm, showing their love for Punjabi Language & Culture.

Extension Lecture at Innocent Hearts College of Education

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar organized an extension lecture on Feb 07, 2017. Principal of R.P. Memorial School, Jalandhar - Mr. Gagandeep Vohra (alumni member of our college) demonstrated on the topic ‘Norms and conditions of opening a school according to PSEB/CBSE’. An interesting power-point presentation was used for explanation. Legal points related to affiliation, infrastructure, working conditions for teachers etc. were discussed in detail. Queries were discussed. The student- teachers were inspired by the presentation of the alumni member and appreciation certificate was also given to him by Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh.

CELEBRATION OF ‘BASANT FESTIVAL’ IN INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

In order to preserve Punjabi culture and heritage, ‘Basant Festival’ was celebrated in Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar. Almost all the student-teachers participated in the Inter-house competitions like – Solo dance, Modeling, ‘Yellow dish’ competition, Group Dance, Musical Chair, games etc. The stude

Inter College Competition

The Student-teachers of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar performed well and won many prizes in Inter-College Competitions held across the state. Rachna got First position in ‘Declamation Contest’ organized at Dips College of Education, Dhilwan. Neha Mehta achieved second prize in ‘Skill- in- Teaching Competition’ and Mandeep Kaur achieved third prize in ‘On- the- spot preparation of teaching model ‘at DAV College of Education for women, Amritsar. Jyoti Bala won third prize in Mehandi Competition organized at C.T. Group of Institution, Maqsudan.

ICT workshop for Faculty


INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION ORGANISED ICT WORKSHOP

“Information and Communication Technology” workshop was organized at Innocent Hearts College of Education on Nov 26, 2016 for Faculty development. The resource person was S. Mriginder Singh, President Awardee for ICT and educator at Sainik school, Kapurthala. The main focus of this teacher training workshop was usage of “Information and Communication technology” in the teaching-learning process. In the interaction session, the participants were encouraged to discuss on ICT tools and ICT curriculum developed by NCERT. Group discussion was done on the implementation of ICT in the classrooms. Some new ideas and suggestions were given. In the practical session, the teachers gained knowledge about the modern and pragmatic methods and techniques of teaching. Principal Dr.Arjinder Singh thanked the resource person and said that such ICT workshops help to improve and develop the quality of education. Dr. Binderjit Kaur, Principal Dips College of Education conducted a question-answer session on ICT.

National Unity Day

Innocent Heats College of Education celebrated National Unity day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and to reinforce the student-teacher to preserve and strengthen unity, integrity and security of our country India. A pledge taking ceremony was organized. The student-teachers delivered speeches on the present day threats to the unity, integrity and security of our country and solutions to such problems. Patriotic songs were sung. PPT related to interesting facts about Sardar Patel was presented. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh said that celebrating such occasions help to instill and foster feeling of unity in diversity and provides an opportunity to re-affirm the inherent strength of the nation.

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION ORGANISED FRESHER’S PARTY

Innocent Hearts College of Education organised Fresher’s party on Oct 24, 2016. The students of B.Ed semester III threw a fabulous party for B.Ed semester I students. Senior students, Rachna and Geetu did the stage anchoring, Priya and Nagesh presented a power point presentation to welcome the junior students. Parmit entertained all with her Punjabi folk dance and Navkiran sang melodious songs. Neha and Mansimran organised interesting games. The performances of Miss Fresher participants of Sem I dazzled the audience. 
Jaspreet won the title of Miss Fresher, Gopika attained the title of the first runner up and Archita got second runner up title. They were crowned and honoured with bouquets.  The student –teachers enjoyed dancing, singing, playing tricky balloon game, musical chair, finding the hidden gift etc. Prizes were given to all the winners. The atmosphere was full of fun and exuberance. Lunch was arranged by the seniors. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh said that such parties help to bridge the gap between junior and senior students. He appreciated the students for their team work and co-ordination.

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION STARTED ‘TREE PLANTATION DRIVE’

The student-teachers of N.S.S unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar started ‘Tree Plantation Drive’ at Govt Sr. Sec School, Mithapur during their Practice teaching session. The student- teachers had already planted seedlings before six months in disposable glasses at the college and these grown saplings were distributed among staff members and students of the school. Then they planted them in the school at appropriate places. It was a team work, all student- teachers had worked hard to protect the sapling and then take the grown plants to the school. The Principal of Govt Sr. Sec School, Mithapur was pleased with the positive attitude of the student-teachers which focused on environmental preservation. Dr. Arjinder Singh, Principal Innocent Hearts College of Education appreciated the efforts of the student-teachers and said that such activities related to Environmental Preservation and Awareness are being carried out in all the schools where practice teaching is going on. He further said that such activities help to enhance mutual co-operation of the schools with B.Ed. College. So such projects will be performed in future also.

WORLD TEACHER’S DAY

Innocent Hearts College of Education celebrated World Teachers’ Day-2016 on October 05. According to UNESCO, the aim of this day is to represents a significant token of the awareness, understanding and appreciation displayed for the vital contribution that teachers make to education and development. Students of Semester-I Radhika and Harsimran presented a presentation and organized interesting games to tell the importance of the day. Moreover, titles were given to all the teachers according to their specialties. Teacher educators of the college Dr. Randeep Randhawa Ms. Shikha and Ms. Harjap Kaur motivated the Student teachers and stressed on the values as it is a part of teaching profession. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh congratulated all the dear students about their performances and for their future also.

The student-teachers of Innocent Hearts College of Education participated in Zonal Youth Festival on 1st, 2nd, 3rd Oct 2016 held at GNDU, Amritsar. Manisha achieved first prize in Poetical Symposium and Rachna got second prize in Elocution.
