First Discussion Lesson 26-27 Nov 2010

First Discussion lessons were arranged for the students of B. Ed. Session 2010-2011 on 26-27 November, 2010. The discussion Lessons were conducted without any major problem. The response of students was good and the faculty members were satisfied with the discussion lessons given y the students. The faclty members also gave necessary suggestions and instruction for improvement to the students.

Punjabi Traditional Art exibition, GNDU, 24-11-10

University Establishment day was celebrated on 24th, November, 2010 at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. On this occassion a Punjabi traditiona Art Exibitin was arranged at Sangat Hall of Guru Nank Dev University, Amritsar. Innocent Hearts College of Education also participated in the exibition. Many traditional things were collected and exibited on the day.

Youth Festival 2010 Day 2, 3 and 4

Youth Festival of colleges of educations was held from 18 to 21st october, 2010. The students from inoocent Hearts Collegeof Education participated in 21 items. Competitions for Stage items such as Gidha, Bhangra, Classical Dance, Skit etc were held in the Dashmesh Auditorium, GNDU, Amritsar.

The College won following prizes in the youth festival.

Orientation Programme Intel Teach Elements 2010

An orientation programme on Intel Teach Elements was organized at college campus on October 7th, 2010. Mrs. Sapna Bist, Master trainer from Intel was the resource person. The programme was organized to provide an orientation regarding Intel teach Elements to the Faculty members and students.

A Detailed orientation on PROJECT BASED LEARNING was given in the first session. Mrs. Sapna explained every aspect of PROJECT BASED LEARNING. All the queries and questions were clarified by the master trainer. PROJECT BASED LEARNING was demonstrated with the help of software and material provided by Intel.
In second session, the faculty and students were oriented about Intel engage programme. The participants were asked to visit Intel engage website. They demonstrated how to register on the website and also how to go through the information. Afterword the participants were asked to register on the website and to join the INDIAN community on the website. All participant register on the website and joined the community.
The orientation programme seems to be very beneficial for the faculty, students and the institution. The faculty members and the students thanks Mrs. Sapna for giving such valuable information and they assure her that they will use this information and learning approach in their education and teaching.

The programme was a huge Success in the field of Education. With this, GNDU has become first university to adopt NCFTE-2009.

Celebration of Birthday of Shaheed Bhagat Singh

A programme was organised on the occassionof Birthday of Shaheed Bhagat Singh in the college of auditorium. The Staff and the students participated in the function. The students presented songs, poems, and lectures on the life of Shaheed Bhagat Singh.
Mrs. Binderjit Kaur, Lecturer in the college also presented a poem full of patriotism. A quiz was also organised on this occassion. The students were awarded with prizes for giving correct answers.

Lecture on Disaster Management on 25-09-2010

A lecture on disaster Management was organised in college campus on 25-09-2010. Prof. lakhbir singh devilered a lecture in teh college auditorium. He suggested common precautionary measure which should be taken care. Three films were also shown on this occassion. Earthquake, fire and Flood were discussed.
A film on First Aid was also shown. Literature on disaster management was also given to students and the college.
At last the principal thanks Prof. Lakhbir Singh for giving such valuable information to college and students.

A Workshop was organised at Khalsa college of Education, Amritsar on
CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT as per NATIONAL CURRICULUM FRAME WORK 2009.
It was a two day workshop in which the curriculum for B. Ed. and M.Ed. was to be developed. The curriculum will be implemented from session 2011-2012.

Seminar on Environmental Awareness on 26-08-2010

A seminar was organised on August 26th, 2010 on Environmental Awareness and the importance of tree plantation. Prof. Lakhbir Singh, a very popular Social Activists, was the resource person. Prof. Lakhbir Singh gave a very detailed lecture on the importance of tree plantation and gave answers to students' questions. 70 plants were given to the college by Prof. Lakhbir Singh. The college will ensure that atleast each student will plant one tree during their B. ed. Course.

Rajiv Gandhi Urga Divas was celebrated at Pushpa Gujral Scienc city, karpurthala. Following cometitions were organised on this occassion.

Skill in Teaching Exams 2010

Practical exams of B. Ed. class ends on 29th may 2010. The skill in teaching exams were held on 28t and 29th May 2010. Dr. J. S. Dhillon, Principal, Khalsa college of education, Amritsar was the coordinator. The exams were conducted smoothly. The Coordinator watched the skill in teaching exams and admired the efforts of the students.

The Principal thanks the coordinator for his kind corporation.

Examination Days

The examinations of B. Ed. class have started from 15th May, 2010.
The first exam was Practical of Physical Education on 15th May.
Second was Practical of Computer Education on 19th May.
Third one was Practical of Art on 21st May.
All the exams were well conducted by the examiners appointed by University.

Now the next exam are on 28th and 29th May, 2010. The skill in teaching examinations will be conducted on these days. The students are preparing for these exams.

An Educational trip to Pushpa Gujral Science City was organised on 13 March 2010. 65 students went with the trip. Three teacher incharges accompany the students.

The students enjoyed the trip very much. Ms. Sukhjit Kaur, Science Lecturer, explained the various objects placed in science city. The students noted down the important points.

It was really a very good enjoyable educational trip.
