Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated International Mother Tongue day digitally.

The NSS unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated ‘Maa Boli Divas’ with the objective to promote and preserve the richness and beauty of Punjabi language and culture.

The concept, importance and history of Punjabi language was explained in detail by well-renowned teacher educator Dr. Tirath Singh. In his online talk, he guided the student-teachers to protect, preserve and transmit their mother tongue to the coming generations in its pure form by not mixing it with the other languages.

Online Slogan writing and Poster-making competitions were also organised. Through their artistic posters the student-teachers depicted their love and respect for their mother tongue. A plethora of slogan writings highlighted the significance and present day relevance of Punjabi language. 

Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh congratulated the winners and appreciated all the participants for their brilliant  demonstrations. E- certificates were given to all the participants.

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated Basant Panchami virtually.


Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated Basant Panchami by organising  ‘Awesome Blossom’ Flower Arrangement competition and Yellow dish-making activity through online mode. These activities were aimed to enhance creativity, critical thinking power  and develop aesthetic sense as well as technicality among the student-teachers. Keeping in view the Covid-19 safety measures, all the student-teachers were instructed to perform online activities from home. 

In their Basanti attires, the participants beautifully arranged various blossoms exhibiting vibrant colours in the Flower Arrangement Competition. They also gave different titles to their arrangements. Kunika shared that “I really felt fresh inhaling the fragrant air in my garden while fetching for attractive flowers. It was a stress-relieving experience for me”. The judgement was done on the basis of principles of design – balance, dominance, contrast, rhythm, proportion and scale. 

To enhance the culinary skills of students, yellow dish-making activity was organised in which scrumptious dishes were prepared and the recipe was  shared online by the students. Execution, appearance, texture and confidence were the parameters used for judgement. The students whole-heartedly participated in the activity and the drive to participate in it was that their loved ones should satiate their palate by tasting delectable delicacies. A teacher is a synonym to a mother who also nurtures and guides her students. The yellow dish-making activity also helped the student-teachers to improve their online presentation skills.

Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh congratulated the winners and all the participants for exhibiting their talent and ideas in their own unique manner. E- certificates were given to all the participants.

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar commenced its new B.Ed. session with Saraswati Pujan and Virtual Orientation Programme.


Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar initiated the new B.Ed. session with Saraswati Vandana and Online Orientation Session imparting the message that spirituality and excellence go hand in hand. 

Saraswati Vandana was organized in order to seek the blessings of the almighty and to welcome the new students with serene positive vibrations. Puja was performed devotedly by the Executive Director (Colleges) Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust Mrs. Aradhana Bowry, Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh and faculty members with religious zeal and devoutness. 

This was followed by an Online Orientation Programme in which the new entrants were acquainted with the rules, regulations and curriculum of the B.Ed. Programme. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh hosted the virtual meet and addressed the new-comers. He started by formally welcoming the newly admitted students. Then he briefed the students about the meritorious history of the college, introduced the faculty members and discussed about the various cells and committees run by the college. Assistant Professor Ms. Tarunjyoti Kaur    discussed the scheme of study,  co-curricular and NSS activities organised in the college during the whole B.Ed. session. In the end the College Principal  encouraged the student-teachers to pursue their goal of success with full dedication and commitment.
