Innocent Hearts College of Education organized Panel Discussion on Gender Inequality: Issues of Marriage


The panel discussion on the topic of syllabus Gender Inequality was held on January 30, 2019 in Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar. Dr. Tirath Singh, Principal of Sacred Heart College of Education Barnala, was a coordinator and resource person. The members of Panel were Ms. Harjap Kaur, Ms. Swati Verma, Ms. Chandni, and Ms. Sapandeep Kaur. The Panel discussion was organized with the purpose to prepare girls for better adjustment with their life partner. The major issued discussed were ‘Is Marriage compulsory or not? , How girls are highly forced to get married? , Role of society and family as an important stressor for girls, Love marriage Vs Arrange marriage and its failure and success’. The various conclusion/ strategies drawn out from discussion:- The victim should go/ seek social help, the girls should be made financially independent, Pre-marital (Physical) relationship are highly discouraged  by panel. The females need to become competent in life skills, the females need to be highly optimistic, society need not pressurize girls/females for marriage; parents need to understand and support the prospective of their girl child about marriage.
Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh thanks the resource person for sparring his valuable time and for sharing his knowledge on Gender Inequality-Issues of Marriage and assured such kind of activities will continue in the college.

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, JALANDHAR BAGGED FIRST PRIZE IN POSTER-MAKING COMPETITION

Keeping in mind, the development of co-scholastic aspects of the student’s personality, all the students are motivated to participate in such activities and are trained for each co-curricular item. Diksha Trehan, student-teacher of B.Ed. Semester-IV stood first in Poster-making competition and Jasmin Mahajan, student-teacher of B.Ed. Semester-II achieved second prize in Declamation contest. The Management, Principal and faculty members appreciated the participants and congratulated the winners for their excellent performances.
