Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated National Youth day.

 The NSS unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education celebrated National Youth day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, one of the greatest philosophers, social reformer and a spiritual leader. Various activities were organized with the theme from Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy - “You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher but your own soul.”

Slogan writing and essay writing competitions were organized on the inspirational ideals of Swami Vivekananda to arouse the feelings of optimism, unity and a shared responsibility towards our country’s progress amongst the would-be teachers. A declamation contest was conducted on the topic “Take risks in your life. If you win, you can lead, if you lose, you can guide.” NSS volunteer Diksha Mehta achieved first prize in the declamation contest. She explained, “Swami Vivekananda taught that patience and hard work are the means to achieve success. Education meant secular learning according to Swamiji, which in turn aids in character- building and in instilling values among learners. NSS volunteers Inderjit Kaur and Kirandeep Kaur achieved first position in essay writing competition where as Vanni and Pragya grabbed first position in slogan writing competition. They demonstrated that Swami Vivekananda always thought of a society, where youngsters can positively lead their life, they can lead the society with more positivity and ensure strategies for securing everyone’s life. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh congratulated the winners and the whole team for their effort.  He explained, “According to Swamiji, youth have an unmatched energy and can bring powerful changes, so it is the duty of the youth to be responsible towards themselves, their families, societies and the nation. He further said, “As would-be teachers you should make the society aware about the value of education and social service should be your focus in life.”

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar welcomed the New Year 2023 with glee and gaiety.

The student-teachers of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated the new year’s party with the title ‘Skilled India 2023’ incorporating the theme ‘Dream big, stay positive, work hard and enjoy the journey ahead.’ 

In order to enhance the creativity, imagination and cognitive skills of the student-teachers, various competitions were organized in which all the student-teachers prepared artistic items and milk-based products with economic value for gifting and sharing in the new year eve. These activities aimed at providing experiential learning and work education for getting better job prospects in the future.
The whole campus was decorated beautifully with twinkling colourful lights and the garden imbued with fun-filled balloons. The celebrations started with a prayer ceremony in which all prayed to the almighty for being blessed with peace, prosperity, intelligence, wisdom and well-being. The fragrance of aromatic flowers  refreshed the atmosphere when almost all the student-teachers prepared vibrant bouquets. Some student-teachers shared their emotions through mesmerizing songs and self-composed poems. New year resolutions were taken to dream big, stay positive, to work constructively and so on.
Beautiful digital cards were created and gifted by student-teachers. The celebration continued with best wishes and blessings from the Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh and faculty members. Sakshi Thakur achieved first prize in decoration contest.  Nandini Luthra achieved first prize in bouquet- making competition. Preeti bagged first position in preparing sweets. All wished each other peace, harmony, prosperity; physical, mental and spiritual well-being in the coming year and in the years to come.
