ICT workshop for Faculty


INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION ORGANISED ICT WORKSHOP

“Information and Communication Technology” workshop was organized at Innocent Hearts College of Education on Nov 26, 2016 for Faculty development. The resource person was S. Mriginder Singh, President Awardee for ICT and educator at Sainik school, Kapurthala. The main focus of this teacher training workshop was usage of “Information and Communication technology” in the teaching-learning process. In the interaction session, the participants were encouraged to discuss on ICT tools and ICT curriculum developed by NCERT. Group discussion was done on the implementation of ICT in the classrooms. Some new ideas and suggestions were given. In the practical session, the teachers gained knowledge about the modern and pragmatic methods and techniques of teaching. Principal Dr.Arjinder Singh thanked the resource person and said that such ICT workshops help to improve and develop the quality of education. Dr. Binderjit Kaur, Principal Dips College of Education conducted a question-answer session on ICT.

Successfully completed Teaching Practice

61 students of Innocent Hearts College of Education completed 3 months Teaching Practice today. A long period for mutual learning ended for both the students and teachers. It is hereby informed to all the students of B. Ed Sem-3  to submit their all practical work before 1 Dec. 2016.. Thank you and Good luck for final discussion lessons..

National Unity Day

Innocent Heats College of Education celebrated National Unity day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and to reinforce the student-teacher to preserve and strengthen unity, integrity and security of our country India. A pledge taking ceremony was organized. The student-teachers delivered speeches on the present day threats to the unity, integrity and security of our country and solutions to such problems. Patriotic songs were sung. PPT related to interesting facts about Sardar Patel was presented. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh said that celebrating such occasions help to instill and foster feeling of unity in diversity and provides an opportunity to re-affirm the inherent strength of the nation.

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION ORGANISED FRESHER’S PARTY

Innocent Hearts College of Education organised Fresher’s party on Oct 24, 2016. The students of B.Ed semester III threw a fabulous party for B.Ed semester I students. Senior students, Rachna and Geetu did the stage anchoring, Priya and Nagesh presented a power point presentation to welcome the junior students. Parmit entertained all with her Punjabi folk dance and Navkiran sang melodious songs. Neha and Mansimran organised interesting games. The performances of Miss Fresher participants of Sem I dazzled the audience. 
Jaspreet won the title of Miss Fresher, Gopika attained the title of the first runner up and Archita got second runner up title. They were crowned and honoured with bouquets.  The student –teachers enjoyed dancing, singing, playing tricky balloon game, musical chair, finding the hidden gift etc. Prizes were given to all the winners. The atmosphere was full of fun and exuberance. Lunch was arranged by the seniors. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh said that such parties help to bridge the gap between junior and senior students. He appreciated the students for their team work and co-ordination.

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION STARTED ‘TREE PLANTATION DRIVE’

The student-teachers of N.S.S unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar started ‘Tree Plantation Drive’ at Govt Sr. Sec School, Mithapur during their Practice teaching session. The student- teachers had already planted seedlings before six months in disposable glasses at the college and these grown saplings were distributed among staff members and students of the school. Then they planted them in the school at appropriate places. It was a team work, all student- teachers had worked hard to protect the sapling and then take the grown plants to the school. The Principal of Govt Sr. Sec School, Mithapur was pleased with the positive attitude of the student-teachers which focused on environmental preservation. Dr. Arjinder Singh, Principal Innocent Hearts College of Education appreciated the efforts of the student-teachers and said that such activities related to Environmental Preservation and Awareness are being carried out in all the schools where practice teaching is going on. He further said that such activities help to enhance mutual co-operation of the schools with B.Ed. College. So such projects will be performed in future also.

WORLD TEACHER’S DAY

Innocent Hearts College of Education celebrated World Teachers’ Day-2016 on October 05. According to UNESCO, the aim of this day is to represents a significant token of the awareness, understanding and appreciation displayed for the vital contribution that teachers make to education and development. Students of Semester-I Radhika and Harsimran presented a presentation and organized interesting games to tell the importance of the day. Moreover, titles were given to all the teachers according to their specialties. Teacher educators of the college Dr. Randeep Randhawa Ms. Shikha and Ms. Harjap Kaur motivated the Student teachers and stressed on the values as it is a part of teaching profession. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh congratulated all the dear students about their performances and for their future also.

The student-teachers of Innocent Hearts College of Education participated in Zonal Youth Festival on 1st, 2nd, 3rd Oct 2016 held at GNDU, Amritsar. Manisha achieved first prize in Poetical Symposium and Rachna got second prize in Elocution. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh congratulated all the participants and motivated all the student-teachers to participate in such events. Management, Principal and teachers congratulated the winners.

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION CELEBRATED SHAHEED BHAGAT SINGH JAYANTI

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s Jayanti on Sept 28, 2016. The student-teachers organized the whole event. They performed emotional drama related to the main life events of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and enacted the roles of Sukhdev, Rajguru and Bhagat Singh. Patriotic songs were sung and self-composed poems were recited. The spirit of sacrifice and love for the nation was aroused by observing the dance performances of student- teachers. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh said that the student-teachers should help the poor and needy in the society, Education is not just achieving the degrees and certificates, but education is working for the welfare of the society. It is the duty of every citizen to respect our country-men and live co-operatively.

INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION ORGANISED PRACTICE TEACHING AT LABOUR SCHOOL

NSS Unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar involved its student-teachers in community service i.e. teaching in Labour children school at Bhagat Singh Colony, Maqsudan run by NGO-PAHAL. The student-teachers were divided into different groups to teach and organize various activities. This practice teaching was carried out from May 30, 2016 to Sep 24, 2016 by the student-teachers of Semester III during the evening. It was a different kind of experience for the would-be teachers as they got an opportunity to closely interact with children whose parents are working as labourers and the school teachers discussed the methodologies adopted for teaching them. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh appreciated the efforts made by the student-teachers and certificates were given to them.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE CELEBRATION

Innocent Hearts College of Education celebrated International Day of Peace on Sept 21, 2016. The student-teachers organised the whole event which mainly focused on achieving peace within ourselves and around us. Video was shown which depicted the harmful effects of war. The student-teachers sang songs, recited self-composed poems and presented speeches which emphasised the importance of World Peace Day. Yoga and meditation was performed by the teachers and students. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh said that this day of peace is not only for one day but every day we should have positive thoughts and contribute towards world peace.

Innocent Hearts College of Education organized Voters Awareness Campaign

Innocent Hearts College of Education organized Voters Awareness Campaign on September 19, 2016 in order to make the student-teachers aware of their voting rights in democratic India and to motivate them to vote. The resource person Dr. Tirath Singh, Principal Sacred Hearts College of Education explained when, Where and How to vote. Videos were shown to the student’s teachers in which the process of using the Electronic voting machine and its functioning was depicted. They were made alert about the fraudulent practice during election and to raise voice against bribery. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh emphasized the need of active voters and increasing role of information technology in the voting system

Annual Hawan ceremony

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar organized Hawan on Sept 12, 2016 in order to inculcate values and develop respect for Indian culture among the would-be teachers of the ongoing session 2016-17.
The members of Management, Principal, faculty members and student- teachers participated in the prayer ceremonies. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh motivated the student-teachers to pursue new goals of success.

Investiture cum Prize Distribution Ceremony

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar organized ‘Investiture cum Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony’ on September 10, 2016. The House representatives, Class representatives and representatives of various clubs and committees were given badges by the Principal. Students of Sem – III were given various titles with certificates. Appreciable remarks were given to students of Sem- III and it was also a lesson for B.Ed  Sem-I students to work hard and achieve more in schlolastic and co- scholastic areas. Students who had participated in the projects related to ‘ Tree plantation’ and Education of students in Gita Mandir’ were also given trophies. Mementos and numerous prizes were given to students for special talent/ academic or cultural achievements. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh and teachers boosted the morale of the students and congratulated them.

Teachers’ day was celebrated at Innocent Hearts College of Education with great fun and fervor. Group dance, songs, poetical symposium, extempore etc were organized. Apart from the fun aspect of the day it was also a day when one could look back, admire and get inspired by our great Indian teachers, so the student-teachers presented a PPT related to this, the main focus was on the life history of Dr. Radhakrishnan who was a staunch believer of education and a renowned teacher. The student-teachers shared their experiences also. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh in his speech encouraged the would-be teachers to make India a more peaceful and blissful place to live in and emphasized that this could be done by future teacher educators.  The teachers thanked all the students for their active participation and gave best wishes for their future.

VISIT OF THE NAAC PEER TEAM TO INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION.

The NAAC Peer Team visited Innocent Hearts College of Education on 19th and 20th August, 2016 to assess the institute for accreditation. The Peer team comprising of Chairperson Prof. E Ramganesh, Member Co-ordinator Prof. RC Nautiyal and member Dr. Smt Archana Dinesh inspected the infrastructure and facilities available in the college. They interacted with IQAC members, Management members, Principal, Faculty, Alumni Association, Parents and students separately. Cultural Programme depicting Punjabi culture and heritage was organised for the team. They enjoyed the folk songs, colourful dance performances and melo-drama with a central theme of eliminating child labour and providing Education to each and every child. They visited and enquired about the activities of the Curriculum lab, NSS room, Guidance and Research Cell, Music room, Method rooms, Science labs, Art room, Sports room, Placement cell, Grievance cell, ET lab, Library, Language lab and Computer room. They also visited the Support Services Hospital, Administrative Unit, Account Office and other branches of Innocent Hearts Group. They verified the documents and analysed the research publications, Journal and books published by the Principal and staff members. The Chairman was glad to know that the college has an experienced staff consisting of four Ph.D scholars and eight UGC-NET qualified educators for teaching B.Ed students. The exit meeting was conducted on the final day in which the welcome address was given by Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh, the Chairman of the NAAC peer team shared his observations, gave suggestions, highlighted the strong aspects of the institution and handed over the report to the Principal. The vote of thanks was proposed by IQAC coordinator Dr. Tirath Singh.

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar organized demonstration of teaching skills on July 11, 2016. The Alumni members of the college –Bimalpreet Kaur , Saumya Mehta and Aditi Wasil gave demonstration on composite lesson in the streams of Commerce, Economics, Science, Computer, Social Science, Languages and Mathematics. These demonstrations were very beneficial for the B.Ed. students. They observed the alumni members and tried to grasp the techniques of teaching. Alumni members interacted with the student-teachers regarding the structure and system of the B.Ed. programme. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh, Teacher-educator In-charge Dr. Randeep Randhawa and faculty members appreciated the alumni members.



Running Coaching Classes For B.Ed.Entrance Exam



INNOCENT HEARTS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION HAS STARTED
FREE COACHING FOR B.ED ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

Innocent Hearts College of Education has started free coaching for the students who have filled online application forms of B.Ed. admission 2016-17, in order to qualify in the state level entrance test.
The coaching classes started from July 4, 2016 and will continue till July 15, 2016. It is a good opportunity for the students as training is being given for increasing mental ability, concentration, problem solving, General Knowledge, teaching proficiency and language skills. Regular mock test is a feature of these coaching classes. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh ensures that B.Ed. aspirants are provided with maximum facilities, training and knowledge. He stated that students from the low income group will also be benefited with  free coaching classes.
