Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated International Mother Tongue day.

 

The NSS unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated ‘Maa Boli Divas’ with the objective to enrich and preserve the purity and glory of Punjabi language and culture. A pledge taking ceremony was organized in which the educators and student-teachers swore to protect, preserve and transmit their mother tongue to the coming generations in its pure form and to impart their mother tongue by integrating it with culture. 
Slogan writing and Poster-making competitions were also organized. Through their artistic posters the student-teachers depicted their love and respect for their mother tongue. Poonam and Golda bagged first position and Sangeeta bagged second position in poster making competition. A plethora of slogan writings highlighted the significance and present day relevance of the Punjabi language. Komal and Tamanna achieved first position, Beauty won second position and Kandla bagged third position in slogan writing competition. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh congratulated the winners and appreciated all the participants for their brilliant demonstrations. Certificates were given to all the participants.

Innocent Hearts College of Education celebrated Basant Panchami cum Valentine day with the theme ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat – bonds of love and unity’. Kite-flying, culinary delight and folk song activities were organised. These activities were aimed to enhance creativity, critical thinking power and develop aesthetic sense as well as technicality amongst the student-teachers. In their Basanti attires, the participants gave different titles to their kites to imbibe the values of love, care, empathy, respect, gratitude, happiness and cheer. Vibrant kites freely tossed in the sky depicting freedom and different shades of love. Many student-teachers made yellow dishes and prepared pickles as well as jams with economic value. These tasks aimed at providing vocational education and experiential learning to the would-be teachers. Solo singing competition on the theme of ‘God’s love, it’s so wonderful’ made the atmosphere more energetic and lively.
