Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated International Women’s day. An
extension lecture was delivered by Educator Mrs. Renuka Gupta on women
empowerment focusing on the achievements of Saina Nehwal, Puja Thakur, Sania
Mirza, Kalpana Chawla and Lata Mangeshkar. Actress Sridevi was also remembered
on this occasion. The student-teachers of NSS unit presented power-point presentation
on great Indian women personalities after independence. Poems were recited on
the plight of women in the society and highlighting the role of women. Principal
Dr. Arjinder Singh motivated the student-teachers to fight against social evils
like dowry system, female feticide, child marriage etc.
