COLLEGE TOOK INITIATIVE TOWARDS SENSITIZATION ON WOMEN SECURITY


The faculty members of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar participated in One day Workshop cum training on the theme of ‘Sexual harassment of women at work place (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013’ on April 17, 2018. Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar Sh. Varinder Sharma IAS was the Chief Guest of the day. The various stakeholders were members of local complaints committee of the district, employers, district officers, employees of various banks, industries, education and police department.  
Constitutional provisions and articles related to equality of women were discussed in the Technical session. This was followed by panel discussion on some serious issues regarding challenges faced by women at work places and implementation of legal rights of women was also highlighted. NSS Officer Ms Tarunjyoti Kaur and Assistant Professor Ms Harjap Kaur participated in the interaction session and tried to find solutions against male dominance in rural areas. Later discussion about the workshop was carried out in front of the faculty members of IHCE and information about various laws and legal rights of women was given to them by the NSS officer.
Principal Dr Arjinder Singh advised the faculty members to spread awareness of the schemes for women layed down by Indian Government, Ministry of Women and Child Development and sensitize girls about the procedure for implementing these laws for their safety and benefit in day-to-day problematic life situations.
