Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated Basant Panchami virtually.

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated Basant Panchami by organising  ‘Awesome Blossom’ Flower Arrangement competition and Yellow dish-making activity through online mode. These activities were aimed to enhance creativity, critical thinking power  and develop aesthetic sense as well as technicality among the student-teachers. Keeping in view the Covid-19 safety measures, all the student-teachers were instructed to perform online activities from home.

In their Basanti attires, the participants beautifully arranged various blossoms exhibiting vibrant colours in the Flower Arrangement Competition. They also gave different titles to their arrangements. Kunika shared that “I really felt fresh inhaling the fragrant air in my garden while fetching for attractive flowers. It was a stress-relieving experience for me”. The judgement was done on the basis of principles of design – balance, dominance, contrast, rhythm, proportion and scale.

To enhance the culinary skills of students, yellow dish-making activity was organised in which scrumptious dishes were prepared and the recipe was  shared online by the students. Execution, appearance, texture and confidence were the parameters used for judgement. The students whole-heartedly participated in the activity and the drive to participate in it was that their loved ones should satiate their palate by tasting delectable delicacies. A teacher is a synonym to a mother who also nurtures and guides her students. The yellow dish-making activity also helped the student-teachers to improve their online presentation skills.

Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh congratulated the winners and all the participants for exhibiting their talent and ideas in their own unique manner. E- certificates were given to all the participants.
