NSS Unit of Innocent Hearts College of
Education, Jalandhar involved its student-teachers in community service i.e.
teaching in Labour children school at Bhagat Singh Colony, Maqsudan run by
NGO-PAHAL. The student-teachers were divided into different groups to teach and
organize various activities. This practice teaching was carried out from May
30, 2016 to Sep 24, 2016 by the student-teachers of Semester III during the evening.
It was a different kind of experience for the would-be teachers as they got an
opportunity to closely interact with children whose parents are working as
labourers and the school teachers discussed the methodologies adopted for
teaching them. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh appreciated the efforts made by the
student-teachers and certificates were given to them.
