Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated International Girl Child Day

 

The NSS unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated International girl child day to advocate the notion that girls are no less than boys in all the spheres of life and to find solutions to gender inequality.

Visits were conducted to Mahila Kendras and ‘Unique home - abandoned girl’s orphanage’ which is not just an orphanage but a campaign against female foeticide. In the Mahila Kendras speeches were delivered by NSS volunteers on the topics related to the achievements of Great Indian women - Mary Kom, Kalpana Chawla, Sunita Williams, Mother Teresa and many more in order to bring out the hidden inner strength in each women at the Mahila kendras. Various teaching strategies were discussed at Unique home, Jalandhar for equipping young girls with qualitative education and for making their future bright. 

Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh said that the college has a ‘Grievance cell’ and a ‘Guidance and Counselling cell’ to help in solving problems faced by females so that they live a peaceful and dignified life.
