Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated Baisakhi festival.


Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated the spring harvest festival Baisakhi with the objective of preserving and transferring the rich cultural heritage of Punjab to our would-be teachers. Alumni member Mr. Kulwinder Kumar elucidated the religious importance of Baisakhi festival by commemorating that on this day Khalsa Panth was formed under the leadership of Guru Gobind Singhji, the tenth Guru of the Sikhs in the year 1699. Student-teacher Parampreet Kaur explained the importance of Baisakhi festival for the Indian farmers. Dressed up in their cultural attire the student-teachers, Sonia and Sarika performed Gidda. Bolis and Tappes were chanted by the student-teachers Komal and Poonam in Punjabi language which added to the merriment and amusement.
