Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti.

Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated Dr. BR Ambedkar's birthday which is also referred to as 'Equality Day' in order to inculcate the values of team work, co operation, optimism, togetherness, equality and justice amongst the would-be teachers.

The programme started by paying tribute to Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar through a power point presentation presented by the student- teachers Sarika and Sonia. They explained that Dr. Ambedkar advocated a society based on three fundamental principles of liberty, equality, and fraternity. He endorsed equal rights for all Indian citizens in the constitution.

A drama on the theme ‘Dr. BR Ambedkar’s contributions to nation building and women empowerment’ was enacted by the would-be teachers – Ridhi, Parampreet Kaur, Janupriya, Medhavi, Sonia and Bunny. Student-teacher Janupriya who played the role of Dr. Ambedkar quoted him, “Unity is meaningless without the accompaniment of women. Education is fruitless without educated women and agitation is incomplete without the strength of women.”

Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh explained to the student teachers that Babasaheb Ambedkar was a crusader against caste system and untouchability and the would-be teachers must imbibe and transfer his teachings to the coming generations.
